Human Resources Assistant Jobs in Florida

We are looking for a detailed oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team in Jacksonville, FL.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Assistant supports daily HR operations. This includes but are not limited to: maintaining employee files and other HR compliance, assisting with recruiting and onboarding, employee benefits, general employee relations support, and administrative tasks which may include receptionist duties depending on location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Serves as point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries and issues.
• Assists with recruitment efforts and new hire onboarding.
• Supports HR programs and initiatives, such as employee engagement, benefits enrollment, and training.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Assists in preparing HR reports and maintaining HRIS data integrity.
• Provides administrative support for payroll processing, including timecard audits and attendance tracking.
• Assists in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective manner with customers, co-workers, clients and supervisors.
• Performs other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Regular and reliable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in an administrative role or HR support role; 1-2 years of work experience is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Familiarity with HR software, such as ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
• Proficient computer skills in MS Office – Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to focus, high level of attention to detail and accuracy of information.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
• Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Occasional adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
• Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Constant use of computer for prolonged periods.
• Constantly thinking and processing information.
• Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• General office environment.
• May require occasional exposure to production area with airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold. Personal protection equipment is required when entering manufacturing plant.

Compensation: $20.67 – 25.00 / hour
