Industrial Sales Manager Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an industrial sales manager in New Jersey?
Most industrial sales manager roles in New Jersey require a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a technical discipline, though no state-issued license governs the position itself. Employers in New Jersey's chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing sectors typically promote from within, advancing sales representatives who demonstrate consistent territory growth and product expertise. Relevant certifications such as Certified Professional Manufacturer's Representative or industry-specific credentials in chemicals or automation strengthen a candidate's profile with major New Jersey employers.
How much do industrial sales managers make in New Jersey?
Industrial sales managers in New Jersey earn a median of about $173,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $103,580 for the lowest 10% to over $308,630 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire industrial sales managers in New Jersey?
Employers hiring industrial sales managers in New Jersey right now include Eaton, Advatix, and Everflow Supplies, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of chemical, pharmaceutical, and advanced manufacturing companies means the state consistently produces some of the highest volumes of industrial sales openings in the Northeast.
Which New Jersey cities have the most industrial sales manager jobs?
The cities with the most industrial sales manager openings in New Jersey are Lyndhurst, Carteret, and Livingston. This distribution reflects the state's industrial geography: Newark's logistics and distribution infrastructure, Edison's central position in the Route 1 corridor where many national manufacturers maintain regional offices, and Parsippany-Troy Hills' role as a headquarters hub for specialty chemicals and life sciences companies that rely heavily on industrial sales teams.
Are there remote industrial sales manager jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based roles because industrial sales managers regularly visit client facilities, conduct product demonstrations, and support on-site technical evaluations. About 50% of industrial sales manager openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those arrangements typically apply to the strategic account management and forecasting side of the role rather than field-facing territory responsibilities.
How can I get hired as an industrial sales manager in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development or territory associate role at one of New Jersey's large industrial distributors or chemical companies, which regularly hire candidates without direct sales management experience. Employers such as large-format chemical and automation distributors based along the Route 1 corridor and in the Meadowlands area run structured rotational programs that move associates into territory management. A technical degree in engineering or chemistry, combined with familiarity with CRM tools and an internship at a New Jersey manufacturer, gives candidates a clear competitive edge over generalist applicants.
Where can I find and apply to industrial sales manager jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to industrial sales manager jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and target territory, and apply directly to each employer through the listing.
