Market Manager Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a market manager in New Jersey?
Most New Jersey employers hire market managers with a bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related discipline, and the role carries no state-issued license or registration. The typical path starts in a coordinator or analyst position at a consumer goods, pharmaceutical, or retail company, building toward a manager title through demonstrated campaign ownership and account results. Completing a certification such as the American Marketing Association's Professional Certified Marketer credential strengthens a New Jersey candidacy considerably.
How much do market managers make in New Jersey?
Market managers in New Jersey earn a median of about $180,040 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $126,760 for the lowest 10% to over $298,870 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire market managers in New Jersey?
Employers hiring market managers in New Jersey right now include World Insurance Associates, 2020 Companies, and Valley Bank, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of consumer packaged goods headquarters and pharmaceutical companies along the Route 1 and I-287 corridors makes it one of the more active states for this role nationally.
Which New Jersey cities have the most market manager jobs?
Holmdel, Livingston, and Jersey City have the highest concentration of market manager openings in New Jersey. Newark and Jersey City draw volume from financial services and large corporate regional offices, while suburban hubs like Parsippany and Florham Park host the CPG and pharmaceutical headquarters that consistently post brand and trade marketing roles throughout the year.
Are there remote market manager jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 69% of market manager openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of much of the work. Roles focused on digital marketing strategy, content planning, and marketing analytics tend to offer the most location flexibility, while trade and shopper marketing positions tied to retail accounts typically require regular in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a market manager in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a marketing coordinator or brand analyst role at one of New Jersey's large CPG or pharmaceutical employers, many of which run structured rotational or associate brand management programs for recent graduates. Companies headquartered along the Route 1 corridor regularly recruit through these programs. Building a portfolio of campaign work, even from internships or academic projects, and earning the American Marketing Association's PCM certification gives candidates a measurable edge over applicants relying on coursework alone.
Where can I find and apply to market manager jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to market manager jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the listings to see roles that match your experience level and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
