About the Position

Wonderland Child & Family Services is seeking a Marketing and Operations Lead to join our Development team. This position reports to the Senior Director of Development and is responsible for building and maintaining the systems, calendars, and accountability structures that keep Wonderland’s Development functions organized and moving forward. This is a foundational role for Wonderland’s Development program, owning the calendars and processes the team runs on, from SharePoint organization to proactive annual planning and grants calendars, while partnering with the Senior Director of Development to keep priorities, donor tours, and outside consultants on schedule. This role serves as a strategic and operational partner to the Senior Director of Development, translating big-picture priorities into clear workplans, timelines, communications, and next steps while proactively keeping work moving forward.

Pay and Location

• This is a full-time (40 hours/week), salaried exempt position with a starting range of $94,000-$100,000 annually, depending on relevant experience.
• This hybrid role is largely remote, with occasional in-office, program site, or partner meetings, subject to change based on family and agency needs.

• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, project management, operations, or a related field, including demonstrated experience independently managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Valid driver’s license, current insurance, and reliable automobile required for occasional travel between the office and program sites for facility and donor tours.
• Current criminal background checks are maintained for all employees.
• Wonderland employees are mandated reporters of any suspected abuse or neglect of a child to DCYF (CPS) and/or law enforcement.

Qualifications

• Proven marketing experience, including planning campaigns and managing creative and launch timelines, with a track record of project-managing the schedules, calendars, and moving pieces that marketing work depends on.
• Experience supporting senior leadership, including moving decisions forward.
• Strong organizational skills, comfort with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint), and willingness to learn donor and website software.
• Experience working with CRM or similar database systems; experience with Salesforce and/or Bloomerang is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a diplomatic style that holds people accountable without friction.
• Ability to build effective partnerships across departments, including program, finance, and leadership, not just within Development.
• Commitment to trauma-informed care practices and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in daily work.
• Prior experience coordinating contractors or vendors, with genuine interest in delegation and follow-through.
• Exceptional ability to synthesize information and messaging, turning meetings, conversations, notes, and emerging ideas into clear priorities, action items, and communications tailored for staff, board members, donors, funders, community partners, and other external audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in nonprofit Development, with familiarity with grants, donor relations, fundraising cycles, and marketing/communications cadence.
• Hands-on experience creating or publishing marketing content.

Duties and Responsibilities

Owns and drives:

• Develop, own, and facilitate annual planning frameworks and processes that translate Development and organizational priorities into clear plans, timelines, and accountability structures.
• Evaluate and improve Development and Marketing systems, workflows, and processes to strengthen efficiency, accountability, cross-functional coordination, and timely execution.
• Own marketing and communications planning for campaigns and new program or product launches, including setting messaging timelines, directing creative development, and making final calls on channel and distribution strategy.
• Lead launch planning for new programs and products, from initial concept through public release, coordinating input from program staff, leadership, and outside vendors.

Project-manages and coordinates:

• Maintain SharePoint organization within the existing structure and become proficient in the Development team’s CRM and related systems, including Salesforce and Bloomerang, to provide operational backup as needed.
• Build and maintain a proactive annual calendar of Development plans and deadlines across grants, campaigns, and donor stewardship in support of the Senior Director of Development’s strategy and timed to support fall budget planning.
• Project-manage stakeholders across grants, marketing, and donor stewardship, including donor and corporate tours, grant reports, and other deliverables, keeping people and timelines on track.
• Traffic grant applications and reports across contributors, tracking drafts, approvals, and submission deadlines to ensure nothing is late or missing.
• Coordinate the compilation and timely delivery of donor, funder, and board reports.
• Maintain a high-level view of Development and Marketing priorities, anticipating upcoming decisions, deadlines, dependencies, communications, and follow-up while proactively identifying gaps or bottlenecks before they slow the work down.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in a home office environment, with occasional travel to Wonderland’s office, program sites, or partner locations for meetings and donor tours. This role may occasionally require lifting items up to 20 pounds for event or meeting setup. The position involves prolonged sitting and extensive use of a computer screen for up to eight hours per day.
