Sales Executive Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales executive in Washington?
Most sales executive roles in Washington require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though many employers prioritize demonstrated sales performance over academic credentials. Washington does not require a state-issued license for most sales executive positions. Breaking in typically means starting as a business development representative or account executive at one of the region's many technology or enterprise services companies, then building a verifiable record of quota attainment.
How much do sales executives make in Washington?
Sales executives in Washington earn a median of about $174,000 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $104,000 for the lowest 10% to over $291,620 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales executives in Washington?
Employers hiring sales executives in Washington right now include T-Mobile, Siemens, and Marsh McLennan Agency - Northwest, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Washington's concentration of global technology headquarters and aerospace primes means hiring is ongoing rather than seasonal, particularly for enterprise and channel sales roles.
Which Washington cities have the most sales executive jobs?
Seattle, Olympia, and Spokane account for the most sales executive openings in Washington. Seattle and Bellevue dominate because of the dense concentration of technology company headquarters and regional offices there, while Kirkland and Redmond draw significant volume from major campus employers whose enterprise sales teams are based on the Eastside corridor.
Are there remote sales executive jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 61% of sales executive openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the technology industry's long-standing comfort with distributed sales teams. Strategic and enterprise account management roles tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while roles requiring regular in-person client engagement, such as commercial real estate or field sales, remain largely on-site.
How can I get hired as a sales executive in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a business development representative role at one of Washington's many SaaS or cloud technology companies, where structured sales development programs are common and progression to account executive is a defined track. Large Eastside technology employers run formal sales academy cohorts for candidates without prior sales experience. Adjacent roles in customer success, account management, or solutions consulting also serve as strong lateral moves into sales executive positions for candidates who can demonstrate client-facing impact.
Where can I find and apply to sales executive jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to sales executive jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current Washington openings across industries and seniority levels. Search the listings for roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit.
