Marketing, PR & Social Media Manager
Part-Time | Flexible Schedule | Rochester, Michigan
Amy Elizabeth Designs (AED)
251 Diversion Street, Rochester, MI
About Amy Elizabeth Designs
Amy Elizabeth Designs is an award-winning luxury interior design and design-build studio creating exceptional residential and commercial spaces. We work with discerning homeowners, executives, entrepreneurs, luxury builders, developers, investors, and commercial clients who value elevated design, thoughtful execution, and a highly personalized experience.
As AED continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced marketing and business development professional who can help us expand our visibility, strengthen strategic relationships, and create meaningful opportunities for the firm.
This is a part-time position with flexibility, ideal for an experienced marketing, PR, or business development professional who wants to make a significant impact without committing to a traditional full-time role.
The Role
This is not simply a social media position.
We are looking for someone who understands how to turn a strong brand into relationships, visibility, referrals, and qualified business opportunities.
You will help ensure AED is consistently in the right rooms, in front of the right audiences, and connected to the right people.
The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, connector, marketer, social media manager and opportunity finder. You know how to identify a valuable relationship, make the connection, follow up consistently, and turn brand awareness into real business development.
Social media and content are important tools within this role, but they are part of a much larger growth strategy.
What You'll Own
Marketing & Brand Strategy
- Develop and manage AED's overall marketing and business development strategy.
- Create and maintain a strategic marketing calendar so initiatives are proactive rather than reactive.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen AED's position within the luxury residential and commercial design markets.
- Ensure marketing efforts consistently reflect AED's brand, positioning, and ideal clientele.
Business Development & Strategic Relationships
- Identify and cultivate relationships with luxury builders, architects, developers, realtors, vendors, industry organizations, publications, and other strategic partners.
- Develop referral partnerships that create mutually beneficial opportunities.
- Consistently nurture relationships through thoughtful outreach and follow-up.
- Identify networking opportunities, industry events, collaborations, sponsorships, and strategic introductions.
- Help get AED into rooms and conversations that create meaningful opportunities for the firm.
- Maintain a business development pipeline and track relationships, opportunities, and follow-up.
PR & Brand Visibility
- Identify relevant media, editorial, speaking, award, and industry opportunities.
- Coordinate project submissions for publications and design awards.
- Develop opportunities for Amy and AED to participate in panels, events, collaborations, interviews, and other visibility initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant media and industry contacts.
Social Media & Content
- Oversee, create + edit AED's social media and content strategy across key platforms.
- Plan, create, coordinate, and schedule engaging content that reflects the firm's luxury positioning.
- Identify opportunities to showcase projects, expertise, press, partnerships, behind-the-scenes content, and thought leadership.
- Monitor engagement and help grow a relevant, qualified audience rather than focusing solely on follower counts.
- Stay current on platform trends and identify opportunities that make sense for the AED brand.
Analytics & Opportunity Tracking
- Track where inquiries and qualified leads originate.
- Monitor marketing, social media, PR, referral, and business development performance.
- Identify which activities are generating meaningful engagement and opportunities.
- Provide clear recommendations on where AED should invest its marketing time and resources.
- Provide Google and Meta analytics
- Create and monitor Google ad words + analytics
What We're Looking For
Prior professional experience in marketing, social media content creating + monitoring across all social platforms and business development, public relations, brand management, or a closely related role is required.
We are looking for someone who brings experience and initiative to the position and can independently identify what needs to happen next.
You may be a great fit if you are:
- Strategic and resourceful
- Polished and confident
- Outgoing and relationship-oriented
- Persistent without being overly aggressive
- An excellent written and verbal communicator
- Highly organized with strong follow-through
- Comfortable initiating conversations and building new relationships
- Creative about finding opportunities and making connections
- Able to work independently and take ownership
- Experienced with social media strategy and digital content
- Comfortable using analytics to guide marketing decisions
- Familiar with PR, media outreach, partnerships, events, or business development
Experience within luxury brands, interior design, architecture, real estate, construction, hospitality, lifestyle, or another relationship-driven industry is especially valuable.
An established professional network within Metro Detroit is a plus.
What Success Looks LikeWithin Your First 90 Days
You have developed a clear marketing and business development strategy for AED, identified priority relationships and target partners, established a consistent outreach and follow-up process, created a proactive marketing calendar, and implemented reliable lead-source tracking.
Within Your First Year
AED has a measurable pipeline of qualified opportunities. Strategic referral relationships have expanded. The firm is gaining access to clients, partnerships, media, events, and opportunities that were previously difficult to reach.
Brand visibility is increasing in places that matter to our business, not simply through vanity metrics.
Most importantly, AED has a consistent business development engine that does not rely solely on the owner to initiate and maintain every growth relationship.
The Person We're Looking For
You are the kind of person who sees an opportunity and acts on it.
You naturally think:
"There's someone AED should know, and I already know how I'm going to get us in the room."
You enjoy making connections, building relationships, developing ideas, and watching those efforts turn into tangible opportunities.
Why This Role Is Different
This position offers the opportunity to play an influential role in the growth of an established luxury design firm while maintaining the flexibility of a part-time schedule.
We care more about experience, initiative, relationships, strategy, and results than sitting at a desk for a traditional 40-hour workweek.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to bring your expertise, connections, and creativity to a growing brand while maintaining flexibility in your professional life.
Part-Time | Flexible Schedule | Rochester, Michigan
Prior relevant professional experience is required.
Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour

Benefits:
- Flexible schedule

Marketing Manager Jobs in Michigan: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing manager in Michigan?
Most marketing manager roles in Michigan require a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a closely related field. Michigan does not require a state-issued license to work as a marketing manager. Employers typically expect several years of progressive marketing experience, and candidates strengthen their candidacy with certifications from recognized bodies such as the American Marketing Association or Google, which are widely respected by Michigan hiring teams.
How much do marketing managers make in Michigan?
Marketing managers in Michigan earn a median of about $138,510 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $80,260 for the lowest 10% to over $222,910 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing managers in Michigan?
Employers hiring marketing managers in Michigan right now include ArcSite, Domino's, and Stellantis, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Michigan's deep roots in automotive, healthcare, and consumer packaged goods mean that corporate marketing teams here tend to be large, structured, and focused on both B2B and B2C audiences.
Which Michigan cities have the most marketing manager jobs?
Grand Rapids, Detroit, and Warren have the most marketing manager openings in Michigan. Detroit anchors the list as the state's largest metro, home to major automotive headquarters, large hospital systems, and regional corporate offices that each maintain sizable marketing departments. Grand Rapids drives volume through its strong healthcare and consumer goods base, while Ann Arbor draws demand from the University of Michigan, a dense technology sector, and professional services firms.
Are there remote marketing manager jobs in Michigan?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 67% of marketing manager openings tied to Michigan are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role involves strategy, content development, and digital execution rather than on-site presence. Brand management and digital marketing positions tend to be the most remote-friendly, while roles requiring close collaboration with local sales teams or event coordination lean toward hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a marketing manager in Michigan with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a marketing coordinator or marketing specialist role at a mid-size Michigan company, where you can own projects quickly and build a visible portfolio. Large Michigan employers such as General Motors, Beaumont Health, and Steelcase hire entry-level marketing associates and sometimes offer rotational programs for new graduates. Moving laterally from sales, communications, or graphic design is common, and completing an AMA Professional Certified Marketer credential or a Google digital marketing certificate gives candidates a measurable edge in Michigan hiring screens.
