Job Summary: The Material Manager will oversee inventory and procurement procedures for raw materials and supplies within our facility. This role requires a strong background in supply chain management and inventory control, with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills. The goal is to ensure the continuous availability of essential materials to support our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with management to assess and determine supply needs.
- Purchase supplies and materials in accordance with established specifications.
- Coordinate and supervise the receiving and warehousing of materials.
- Oversee the distribution of supplies throughout the organization.
- Maintain and control inventory levels, ensuring material availability during emergencies.
- Supervise, evaluate, and mentor subordinate staff.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, including negotiation of terms.
- Maintain detailed records of procurement activities, material quantities, and specifications.
- Assist in forecasting and planning for future orders.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Material Manager or in a similar role.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving.
- Proficiency with supply chain and inventory management systems.
- Strong understanding of forecasting and budgeting.
- Working knowledge of SAP MM.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
