Office Manager Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a office manager in Wisconsin?
Most office manager roles in Wisconsin require at least an associate degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field, though many employers prefer a bachelor's degree. Wisconsin does not require a state-issued license for general office managers, but those working in medical offices often pursue certification through national bodies such as the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management. Gaining experience in administrative support or team coordination roles is the most direct path to advancement.
How much do office managers make in Wisconsin?
Office managers in Wisconsin earn a median of about $70,560 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,590 for the lowest 10% to over $102,440 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire office managers in Wisconsin?
Employers hiring office managers in Wisconsin right now include Aspen Dental, Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, and Lake Ridge Bank, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Wisconsin's concentration of healthcare systems, insurance carriers, and regional logistics companies makes it one of the more consistent markets in the Midwest for office management hiring across industries.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most office manager jobs?
Madison, Milwaukee, and Oshkosh account for the largest share of office manager openings in Wisconsin. Milwaukee drives volume through its density of hospital networks, law firms, and financial services headquarters, while Madison's state government offices, university operations, and growing tech sector generate steady demand, and Green Bay's logistics and manufacturing base supports regional administrative roles.
Are there remote office manager jobs in Wisconsin?
Yes, but they're limited. Office manager roles typically require an on-site presence to oversee staff, manage facilities, and coordinate day-to-day operations. About 10% of office manager openings tied to Wisconsin are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those that do offer flexibility tend to involve scheduling coordination, billing oversight, or multi-location administrative work that can be handled partly off-site.
How can I get hired as a office manager in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as an administrative coordinator or office assistant at a Wisconsin healthcare system, insurance company, or professional services firm. Large employers like Froedtert Health and the University of Wisconsin system regularly bring on entry-level administrative staff who move into management after demonstrating organizational competence. Earning a certificate in business administration or medical office management from a Wisconsin technical college strengthens a candidate's profile considerably for first-time applicants.
Where can I find and apply to office manager jobs in Wisconsin?
You can find and apply to office manager jobs in Wisconsin on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, industry background, and preferred location, then apply directly to the positions that fit.
