Employers typically expect a bachelor's degree and several years of quota-carrying experience before promoting or hiring into a regional management seat.

Regional sales managers in Wisconsin earn a median of about $134,870 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $76,330 for the lowest 10% to over $222,110 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.

Milwaukee leads because it anchors the state's largest corporate headquarters cluster in manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare, while Madison draws openings tied to the biotechnology and technology sectors, and Green Bay reflects demand from food processing and paper industry distributors.
