Relationship Manager Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a relationship manager in Tennessee?
Most relationship manager roles in Tennessee require a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, followed by experience in banking, lending, or client services. For roles involving mortgage origination or consumer lending, Tennessee requires Nationwide Multistate Licensing System registration through the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions. Commercial banking positions typically reward candidates who have completed credit training programs at regional or national banks before moving into a relationship-facing seat.
Which companies hire relationship managers in Tennessee?
Employers hiring relationship managers in Tennessee right now include FirstBank, Regions Bank, and Studio Bank, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's dense concentration of regional bank headquarters, healthcare systems, and insurance companies means hiring tends to be steady rather than cyclical across the state.
Which Tennessee cities have the most relationship manager jobs?
Nashville, Chattanooga, and Memphis have the most relationship manager openings in Tennessee. Nashville leads because it is home to major bank regional offices, healthcare giants, and a growing commercial real estate sector, while Memphis draws volume from its logistics, wealth management, and community banking activity, and Knoxville benefits from a concentration of regional financial institutions and university-anchored healthcare clients.
Are there remote relationship manager jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields because relationship management relies heavily on in-person client contact and local portfolio knowledge. About 43% of relationship manager openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and the remote-eligible positions tend to concentrate in inside sales support, digital account management, or back-office client success functions rather than traditional commercial banking roles.
How can I get hired as a relationship manager in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a bank's credit analyst or personal banker role, which Tennessee employers like Truist, Regions Bank, and Avenue Bank use as a pipeline into relationship management. Many candidates also move laterally from financial advisor associate or business development representative positions. Completing an NMLS registration early, even before it is strictly required, signals readiness for lending-adjacent work and strengthens an application to Tennessee community banks and credit unions that promote from within.
Where can I find and apply to relationship manager jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to relationship manager jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings across banking, financial services, healthcare, and other industries. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
