Sales Business Development Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales business development in Colorado?
Most Colorado employers look for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, though some companies prioritize demonstrated sales results over formal education. There is no state-issued license or registration required for sales business development roles in Colorado. Building experience through inside sales, account coordination, or marketing roles is a common entry path, and completing a recognized sales methodology training such as SPIN or Challenger can strengthen a candidate's profile.
How much do sales business developments make in Colorado?
Sales business developments in Colorado earn a median of about $79,250 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,620 for the lowest 10% to over $149,890 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales business developments in Colorado?
Companies currently hiring sales business developments in Colorado include ProSource Wholesale, LMI, and EnduroSat, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's Front Range technology corridor and its concentration of aerospace and defense primes create steady demand for business development professionals across both established enterprises and growth-stage companies.
Which Colorado cities have the most sales business development jobs?
Denver, Colorado Springs, and Eaton account for the largest share of sales business development openings in Colorado. Denver dominates because of its dense cluster of technology companies, financial services firms, and regional headquarters, while Boulder draws demand from SaaS and clean-energy startups, and Colorado Springs supports significant volume through its aerospace and defense contractor base including Northrop Grumman and L3Harris.
Are there remote sales business development jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields. Sales business development work is largely relationship-driven and phone or video-based at the prospecting and qualification stages, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 75% of sales business development openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have accepted distributed sales teams. The outbound prospecting and account management phases are most commonly performed remotely, while enterprise deal closings often involve in-person meetings.
How can I get hired as a sales business development in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales representative or sales development representative role, which large Colorado employers such as Oracle, Ping Identity, and Zayo regularly fill with candidates who have no prior sales background. Many Front Range technology companies run structured SDR programs that provide onboarding, quota ramp periods, and promotion tracks into full business development roles. Candidates who complete a foundational sales methodology course or who bring a quantified internship or campus leadership experience tend to move faster through initial screening. A demonstrated ability to communicate value clearly in a cover letter and interview matters more than years of experience at the entry level.
Where can I find and apply to sales business development jobs in Colorado?
