The Business Development Executive (BDE) - Outside Sales focuses primarily on prospecting new accounts, cross selling and upselling existing accounts while servicing and maintaining accounts/business. You will be the alternative point of contact for customer sales, daily inquiries and business concerns. You will focus on the growth of the Medisca brand! The BDE builds and strengthens customer relationships, increases sales within the assigned territory and provides excellent service to customers and prospect new accounts.
Location: Candidate must be based in Washington or Oregon.
Territory: Pacific Northwest
Salary: $74,000 + commissions
The opportunity:
New Business Development
- Search for potential clients, visit medical complexes and physicians / health care professionals and obtain referrals
- Identify pharmacies (non-compounders / compounders) and successfully convert their business to Medisca
- Increase Medisca’s share of existing accounts
- Leverage existing health care compounding prescribers to increase Medisca's brand
- Identify health care professionals and educate them on compounding to increase scripts
- Encourage collaboration between physicians, pharmacists and Medisca
Maintaining Existing Accounts & Relationship Building
- Attain monthly sales objectives and monitor profit margins
- Analyze territory trends and identify opportunities
- Regularly track and increase pharmacist business
- Follow up with customers on sales and product availability – Inbound and outbound phone/email
- Suggesting new revenue sources and products
- Ensure clients data and calls are kept relevant and current in systems
- Proactively following up with clients to ensure that they always have the support they need
Generate Sales from Inactive & New Customers
- Cold call prospective customers & determine opportunities to create business
- Research new potential client options & follow up on referrals from existing clients
- Open new accounts & support onboarding
Work collaboratively with the Account Executive
- Discuss existing accounts with the Account Executive & strategize on how to increase business
- Inform the Account Executive of planning cycle to maximize synergies and account contact
- Provide leads and referrals to visit
Travel
- Client visits, tradeshows, training and etc…
- This role is for a ‘road warrior’ who will be visiting customers 80% of the time, with 25-30% overnight travel.
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- College or University degree. Sales or Science background an asset
- Experience as a pharmacy technician, knowledge of compounding or representative in pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in a sales role
- Proven abilities in discovering opportunities, developing strategies and closing sales
- Effective organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
- Memorable, dynamic & animated
- Excellent communication and listening skills; fluent English (written & oral) required
- Knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook) required
