Sales Executive Jobs in South Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales executive in South Carolina?
Most sales executive roles in South Carolina require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a closely related field, combined with several years of progressive sales experience. South Carolina does not require a general state license to work as a sales executive, though roles selling insurance require licensure through the South Carolina Department of Insurance. Candidates who build experience in the state's dominant industries, including manufacturing, healthcare distribution, and logistics, are most competitive for senior-level openings.
How much do sales executives make in South Carolina?
Sales executives in South Carolina earn a median of about $131,080 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,060 for the lowest 10% to over $223,760 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales executives in South Carolina?
Companies currently hiring sales executives in South Carolina include PruittHealth, Target, and DSI Tech, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. South Carolina's manufacturing base along the I-85 corridor and its growing port-linked logistics sector mean that many of the most consistent openings come from industrial suppliers, third-party logistics firms, and healthcare services companies with regional offices in Columbia or Charleston.
Which South Carolina cities have the most sales executive jobs?
Charleston, Greenville, and Columbia have the most sales executive openings in South Carolina. Columbia anchors demand as the state capital and home to large healthcare systems and financial institutions, while Charleston's port activity and tourism economy drive consistent need for B2B and enterprise sales talent, and Greenville draws from the dense manufacturing and professional services corridor that runs through the Upstate region.
Are there remote sales executive jobs in South Carolina?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 75% of sales executive openings tied to South Carolina are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the fact that much of the role, including prospecting, demos, and contract negotiations, can be done without a fixed office. The portions of the job that remain most in-person are relationship-building calls with large manufacturing or healthcare accounts that prefer face-to-face meetings.
How can I get hired as a sales executive in South Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development representative or inside sales role with a mid-size South Carolina employer in manufacturing, healthcare services, or financial products. Companies like BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and regional distribution firms regularly hire early-career candidates into structured sales training programs. Moving laterally from account coordination or customer success roles is also a common route. Earning a Salesforce certification or completing a formal sales methodology course gives candidates without a full quota history a concrete credential to present.
