Sales Representative Jobs in South Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales representative in South Carolina?
Most sales representative roles in South Carolina require at least a high school diploma, though a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field gives candidates a clear edge for corporate and B2B positions. Pharmaceutical and medical device sales roles often require a science or healthcare-related degree. South Carolina does not require a general state sales license, but insurance sales representatives must obtain a South Carolina Department of Insurance license before selling policies in the state.
Which companies hire sales representatives in South Carolina?
Employers hiring sales representatives in South Carolina right now include 50 Floor, Southern National Roofing, and National Federation of Independent Business, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. South Carolina's concentration of manufacturing headquarters, regional healthcare systems, and financial services firms means consistent demand across both outside and inside sales roles throughout the year.
Which South Carolina cities have the most sales representative jobs?
Charleston, Columbia, and Greer have the most sales representative openings in South Carolina. Columbia drives volume as the state capital with a large healthcare and government services sector, Charleston's port economy and growing tech corridor fuel logistics and B2B demand, and Greenville's manufacturing base anchored by Michelin and BMW suppliers generates steady industrial and corporate sales hiring.
Are there remote sales representative jobs in South Carolina?
Yes, and they are more common than in many fields. About 37% of sales representative openings tied to South Carolina are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of modern sales work relies on phone, video, and digital tools rather than in-person visits. Inside sales, software sales, and financial products roles are the most likely to offer fully remote arrangements.
How can I get hired as a sales representative in South Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through inside sales or business development representative roles, which large South Carolina employers in healthcare, insurance, and manufacturing regularly post as new-grad positions. Prisma Health and regional insurance carriers based in Columbia often bring on entry-level account representatives with no prior sales experience. Completing a South Carolina Department of Insurance licensing exam before applying makes candidates immediately hireable for insurance sales roles and signals commitment to employers in other sectors as well.
Where can I find and apply to sales representative jobs in South Carolina?
You can find and apply to sales representative jobs in South Carolina on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Columbia, Charleston, Greenville, and other South Carolina markets. Search the listings, find roles that fit your background and target industry, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
