Sales Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales professional in Tennessee?
Most Tennessee sales roles require a high school diploma at minimum, though a bachelor's degree in business or marketing strengthens your candidacy significantly. Certain specialized tracks, such as real estate or insurance sales, require a Tennessee-issued license through the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. For most corporate or B2B sales positions, the path runs through an entry-level account representative role, on-the-job training, and building a documented record of hitting targets.
Which companies hire sales professionals in Tennessee?
Tennessee sales roles are posted by AutoZone, Russell Cellular, and LOFT and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's concentration of healthcare systems, logistics headquarters, and automotive suppliers means large-scale, recurring sales hiring is a constant across the state.
Which Tennessee cities have the most sales jobs?
Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville lead Tennessee for sales openings. Nashville dominates due to its dense concentration of healthcare corporations, financial services firms, and technology companies, while Memphis drives logistics and supply-chain sales through anchors like FedEx and AutoZone, and Knoxville draws manufacturing and distribution sales activity from its industrial base in East Tennessee.
Are there remote sales jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than many fields, since inside sales and account management roles translate well to remote work. About 6% of sales openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting strong demand for inside sales talent who can close business without being on-site. Roles that require territory travel, client demonstrations, or hands-on product support tend to stay in-person.
How can I get hired as a sales professional in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development representative or business development representative role, which most large Tennessee employers use as a structured feeder into full account executive positions. Companies like HCA Healthcare and regional insurance carriers run formal new-hire sales training programs that require no prior experience. Lateral moves from customer service, retail management, or clinical coordination at Tennessee health systems are common ways in, and earning a Tennessee insurance producer license through the Department of Commerce and Insurance immediately opens a large segment of entry-level openings.
Where can I find and apply to sales jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to sales jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings, find the roles that match your experience and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
