Strategy Director Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy director in Texas?
Becoming a strategy director in Texas typically starts with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field, followed by several years in consulting, corporate planning, or business development roles. Texas employers, particularly in energy, technology, and healthcare, strongly favor candidates who also hold an MBA from an accredited program. No state-issued license is required for this role in Texas, but demonstrated leadership experience and industry-specific knowledge are consistently cited in Texas job postings.
Which companies hire strategy directors in Texas?
Employers hiring strategy directors in Texas right now include CVS Health, Samsung Electronics, and Alcon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major energy companies, and fast-growing technology firms creates consistent demand for senior strategy talent across a range of industries.
Which Texas cities have the most strategy director jobs?
Dallas, Austin, and Houston have the most strategy director openings in Texas. Houston's dominance in energy and healthcare drives significant corporate strategy hiring, while Dallas attracts demand from financial services and telecommunications headquarters, and Austin's technology sector expansion has made it a growing hub for go-to-market and growth strategy roles.
Are there remote strategy director jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most senior roles. About 68% of strategy director openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based, analytical, and presentation-heavy nature of the work. Roles focused on corporate development, competitive intelligence, and strategic planning tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while positions requiring regular executive presence or cross-site coordination are more likely to require in-office time.
How can I get hired as a strategy director in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a strategy analyst or associate strategy role at a large Texas employer, consulting firm, or corporate planning team. Major Texas-based companies in energy and technology regularly hire recent MBA graduates into rotational leadership development programs that feed directly into strategy tracks. Building toward this role from adjacent positions such as financial analyst, business development associate, or management consultant at a Texas firm is a common pattern. An MBA from a Texas institution adds a concrete credential that Texas employers recognize when evaluating candidates without a long strategy title history.
Where can I find and apply to strategy director jobs in Texas?
