Territory Manager Jobs in North Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a territory manager in North Carolina?
Most territory manager roles in North Carolina require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a field relevant to the industry you're selling into, such as life sciences or engineering. North Carolina does not require a state-issued license for general territory management, but roles in pharmaceutical or medical device sales often expect candidates to complete employer-sponsored product training and compliance certification before carrying a territory independently.
How much do territory managers make in North Carolina?
Territory managers in North Carolina earn a median of about $150,470 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $69,350 for the lowest 10% to over $297,760 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire territory managers in North Carolina?
Employers hiring territory managers in North Carolina right now include Syneos Health Commercial Solutions, サイネオス・ヘルス, and IQVIA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. North Carolina's strong manufacturing corridor and life sciences cluster along the Research Triangle mean that industrial distributors, specialty pharma companies, and medical device makers are among the most consistent sources of territory manager openings in the state.
Which North Carolina cities have the most territory manager jobs?
Charlotte, Raleigh, and Asheville have the most territory manager openings in North Carolina. Charlotte drives volume through its role as a major financial services and logistics hub with large distribution networks, Raleigh's Research Triangle concentration of life sciences and technology firms generates steady pharma and device sales roles, and Greensboro's central location makes it a natural base for industrial and manufacturing territory assignments covering the Piedmont region.
Are there remote territory manager jobs in North Carolina?
Yes, but they're rare. Territory manager work is inherently field-based, built around in-person visits to accounts, distributors, and clients within a defined geographic area. About 65% of territory manager openings tied to North Carolina are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those listings tend to be for inside territory roles or account coordination positions that do not require regular physical travel to customer sites.
How can I get hired as a territory manager in North Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales development representative or inside sales role at a North Carolina-based manufacturer or distributor, where you build product knowledge and client relationship skills before transitioning to a field territory. Large employers in the Research Triangle's life sciences sector and Charlotte's distribution networks regularly move strong inside sales performers into junior territory roles. Completing a relevant industry certification, such as those offered through the North Carolina Biotechnology Center's training programs, strengthens your application considerably.
Where can I find and apply to territory manager jobs in North Carolina?
You can find and apply to territory manager jobs in North Carolina on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state's major hiring markets. Search the listings for roles that match your industry background and territory preferences, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
