Territory Sales Manager Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a territory sales manager in Missouri?
Most territory sales manager roles in Missouri require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline, plus prior field sales experience. Missouri does not issue a state-specific license for general sales management, so hiring decisions center on sales performance history and industry knowledge. Candidates targeting healthcare or pharmaceutical accounts may also need relevant product certifications aligned to their sector, which are issued by national industry bodies rather than a Missouri state agency.
How much do territory sales managers make in Missouri?
Territory sales managers in Missouri earn a median of about $115,370 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,920 for the lowest 10% to over $223,340 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire territory sales managers in Missouri?
Employers hiring territory sales managers in Missouri right now include Andrew Meier, HERITAGE TRACTOR, and AAA Cooper Transportation, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Missouri's strong manufacturing, healthcare, and distribution sectors mean steady demand from both headquartered companies and regional divisions of national firms operating out of St. Louis and Kansas City.
Which Missouri cities have the most territory sales manager jobs?
St. Louis, Kansas City, and Columbia consistently post the most territory sales manager openings in Missouri. St. Louis leads because of its concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and industrial manufacturers, Kansas City follows as a major logistics and healthcare hub, and Springfield draws openings tied to regional distributors and agricultural suppliers serving southwest Missouri and the Ozarks corridor.
Are there remote territory sales manager jobs in Missouri?
Yes, but they're rare. Territory sales management is inherently field-based, requiring regular in-person visits to accounts within an assigned geography. About 88% of territory sales manager openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to concentrate administrative or inside-sales coordination duties rather than the client-facing fieldwork that defines most of these roles.
How can I get hired as a territory sales manager in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales or sales development representative role at a Missouri-based employer, then transitioning to a field territory position after demonstrating consistent quota attainment. Companies like Emerson Electric and regional healthcare distributors headquartered in St. Louis and Kansas City run structured sales rotational or associate programs for recent graduates. Building familiarity with Salesforce and earning an industry certification in your target vertical, such as medical devices or industrial equipment, gives candidates a measurable edge in Missouri hiring pipelines.
