Which medical devices companies in Florida sponsor visas?
Major medical devices companies sponsoring visas in Florida include Medtronic (Miami), Johnson & Johnson subsidiaries, Abbott Laboratories, Boston Scientific, and Zimmer Biomet. Smaller med-tech companies like CryoLife in Kennesaw and emerging startups in Miami's health tech corridor also actively sponsor H-1B and other work visas for specialized roles.
What visa types are most common for medical devices jobs in Florida?
H-1B visas dominate for engineering, regulatory affairs, and clinical research positions requiring specialized knowledge. O-1 visas are common for senior scientists and researchers with extraordinary ability. TN visas serve Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying roles, while L-1 visas facilitate transfers within multinational medical devices companies.
How to find medical devices visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international talent with Florida medical devices companies offering visa sponsorship. The platform filters opportunities by location and industry, focusing specifically on employers with proven H-1B and visa sponsorship track records in Florida's Miami, Tampa, and Jacksonville medical technology hubs.
Which Florida cities have the most medical devices sponsorship opportunities?
Miami leads with the highest concentration of medical devices companies and research facilities, followed by Tampa Bay's growing med-tech cluster. Jacksonville hosts several device manufacturers, while Orlando benefits from proximity to University of Central Florida's medical research programs. Fort Lauderdale also attracts medical technology startups seeking international talent.
Do Florida medical devices companies face special visa considerations?
Florida's lack of state income tax makes compensation packages more attractive to international workers, potentially affecting prevailing wage calculations. The state's strong university partnerships with University of Miami and Florida International University create pipelines for international students transitioning to work visas in medical devices companies.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored medical devices jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
