Which insurance companies sponsor E-3 visas in Texas?
Several large insurers with significant Texas operations have sponsored E-3 visas, including Allstate, Travelers, AIG, and Chubb. Houston-based carriers and Lloyd's syndicates active in the energy and petrochemical insurance sector also appear in sponsorship records. Sponsorship willingness varies by role, team, and hiring cycle, so researching individual job postings is the most reliable way to identify current sponsors.
Which cities in Texas have the most insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads due to its concentration of energy, marine, and commercial insurance operations tied to the oil and gas industry. Dallas and its suburb Irving host major carrier headquarters and regional offices, producing steady demand for actuarial, underwriting, and analytics roles. Austin is a smaller but growing market, particularly for insurtech and data-driven insurance functions as the city's tech sector expands.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that qualify as specialty occupations are the clearest fit for E-3 sponsorship. In the insurance industry, these commonly include actuary, underwriter, risk analyst, data scientist, financial analyst, and compliance specialist positions that require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. General claims adjusting or sales roles that accept any degree, regardless of field, are less likely to meet the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface insurance roles in Texas where employers have indicated E-3 sponsorship willingness, without sifting through general job boards that mix non-sponsoring listings. Pairing Migrate Mate with direct outreach to Texas-based carriers and insurtech firms increases your chances of connecting with active hiring managers.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in insurance?
Texas does not impose state-level licensing barriers that uniquely affect E-3 holders differently from other workers, but insurance professionals in roles requiring a Texas Department of Insurance license, such as certain adjuster or agent positions, must obtain that license independently of visa status. For specialty occupation roles like actuarial or underwriting, the main consideration remains ensuring the job description clearly states a degree requirement in a specific field to support the E-3 petition.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 insurance jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
