Most account manager roles in Missouri require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though some employers in logistics and manufacturing accept equivalent experience. There is no state-issued license required to work as an account manager in Missouri. Candidates typically build toward the role through inside sales, customer service, or business development positions, then demonstrate client retention and revenue results to move into a dedicated account management role.
How much do account managers make in Missouri?
Account managers in Missouri earn a median of about $60,440 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $32,940 for the lowest 10% to over $122,830 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire account managers in Missouri?
Companies currently hiring account managers in Missouri include Rent-A-Center, State Farm, and Spectrum Brands, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Missouri's strong base of financial services firms, healthcare technology companies, and regional manufacturing headquarters means account manager demand is spread across both large enterprise employers and mid-size B2B businesses throughout the state.
Which Missouri cities have the most account manager jobs?
St. Louis, Kansas City, and Springfield are the Missouri cities with the most account manager openings. St. Louis leads because of its dense concentration of financial services, healthcare technology, and Fortune 500 headquarters, while Kansas City's strength in logistics, insurance, and professional services drives consistent demand, and Springfield's growing regional business hub contributes a smaller but steady volume of mid-market openings.
Are there remote account manager jobs in Missouri?
Yes, and more than most fields, since account management is fundamentally a communication and relationship role that translates well to remote work. About 67% of account manager openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely distributed client bases have become across the state. Strategic account and enterprise roles with national books of business tend to be the most remote-eligible.

The most realistic entry path is a business development representative or inside sales role at a mid-size Missouri company, which provides the client communication and pipeline experience that account manager hiring managers look for. Large St. Louis employers like Edward Jones and Emerson Electric run structured associate programs that develop early-career candidates. Earning a Salesforce administrator certification or completing a formal sales methodology training, such as Sandler or SPIN Selling, gives candidates a concrete edge when applying without a long tenure in the field.
