Salary: $43,980 - 57,252 Yearly - The salary listed does not include an on-site 24/7 facility 5% premium pay, a King County 5% premium pay. The salary also does not include the 2% general wage increase effective July 1, 2026.
The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is searching for an Administrative Assistant 2 to join our Woodinville Community Facility in Kirkland to provide independent Administrator and Facility support within a Juvenile Rehabilitation Minimum Security Community Facility that serves adjudicated youth.
The Opportunity:
This Administrative Assistant 2 prioritizes, self-manages, organizes, pays attention to detail, and works independently in a diverse and fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills are essential to gather task requirements and provide excellent customer service. Some of what you will do:
- Provide direct, confidential, administrative support to the Administrator.
- Coordinate office operations and schedules, develop and recommend office procedures and systems, ensure smooth office operations, and devise and evaluate office procedures.
- Maintain client confidentiality; respond to inquiries regarding departmental services and procedures; greet and assist visitors; receive, sort, open, and distribute mail; answer telephones, direct calls, or forward messages and schedule interpreters.
- Assist with pre-placement activities for youth transferring to the Facility.
- Maintain, update and monitor employee records for DCYF/JR administrative policies and procedures.
- Create and develop processes and tracking of Program Audits, including Safety, PREA, Dept. of Health, and assist the Cook with monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting.
- Assist in scheduling maintenance service for repairs and cost analysis for repair work.
- Prioritize, develop work methods independently and in collaboration with staff, complete assignments and resolve issues.
Minimum qualifications:
Clerical or office work may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
OR
One-year experience as an Administrative Assistant 1.
OR
A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration or closely allied field, and two years of responsible office experience at the senior clerical level or higher.
AND
- The ability to take action to learn and grow.
- The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.
Graduate study may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:
- Must be able to type 50 Words per Minute (WPM).
- Technology Skills, Communication Skills, Organizational Ability, Written Expression, Time management, Technical Oversight, Problem Solving Skills and Planning Skills.
- Experience with the following systems/programs: Excel, Visio, Microsoft Word, and WebEx.
