Assistant Operations Manager Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a assistant operations manager in Indiana?
Most assistant operations manager roles in Indiana require a bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, supply chain, or industrial engineering, though some manufacturers and logistics companies promote from within based on floor experience. Indiana does not issue a state license specific to this role, but employers in regulated industries like healthcare or food manufacturing may require additional certifications such as ServSafe or OSHA compliance training. Building hands-on experience at an Indiana distribution center, plant, or healthcare facility is the most direct path.
Which companies hire assistant operations managers in Indiana?
Employers hiring assistant operations managers in Indiana right now include Indiana University Health, Worldpac, and Dollar Tree, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Indiana's deep manufacturing and logistics base means opportunities are especially consistent at automotive suppliers, pharmaceutical companies, and regional distribution hubs throughout the state.
Which Indiana cities have the most assistant operations manager jobs?
Indianapolis, Mooresville, and Fishers have the most assistant operations manager openings in Indiana. Indianapolis drives the largest share of postings as the state's commercial and healthcare hub, while Fort Wayne and other secondary cities reflect Indiana's strong manufacturing corridor, where major plant and distribution employers maintain year-round staffing needs for operations leadership roles.
Are there remote assistant operations manager jobs in Indiana?
Yes, but they're rare. Assistant operations managers typically oversee physical workflows, staff, and facilities, which makes fully remote work uncommon for this role. About 0% of assistant operations manager openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to involve back-office coordination, reporting, or vendor management functions rather than direct floor or facility supervision.
How can I get hired as a assistant operations manager in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an assistant operations manager role from a supervisor, team lead, or coordinator position within Indiana's manufacturing or logistics sectors. Large Indiana employers like Amazon fulfillment centers, Walmart distribution facilities, and regional hospital networks run structured advancement programs that promote internal candidates into operations roles. Earning a certificate in operations management or completing a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course strengthens a candidate's profile significantly, and applying to operations coordinator or shift supervisor roles first is a common stepping stone.
Where can I find and apply to assistant operations manager jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to assistant operations manager jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Indiana openings across industries. Search for roles that match your experience level and location preference, then apply directly to the positions that fit.
