Business Dev Specialist POD I - Expected salary range of $55,250 to $65,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
Business Dev Specialist POD II - Expected salary range of $57,800 to $68,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
Responsibilities
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Business Development Specialist - POD I & II is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of customer and account data in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. This role provides advanced technical support to the sales and account management team within the POD and serves as the primary liaison with other functional groups for pre-deal related issues in the sales cycle.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Business Dev Specialist POD I
- Creates opportunities, offers and various pricing scenarios to support transactions.
- Manage data entry and maintenance activities by creating opportunities, offers, and pricing scenarios that support transactions, maintaining accurate customer and account information in the CRM system, updating records for changes such as ownership transfers, establishing and maintaining account hierarchies, and handling nonstandard requests.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining account hierarchy within the system of record.
- Provide data and technical support to Business Development Managers and Account Managers by applying knowledge of regional utility requirements and supporting customer and sales related needs.
- Serve as a liaison between sales and cross functional teams by responding to requests for proposals, supporting data validation and contract execution activities, and coordinating with pricing and legal teams on nonstandard requests.
- Can coordinate with the pricing and legal teams on non-standard requests as needed.
- Support process improvement efforts through ad hoc projects, data cleanup activities, new hire training, development of process efficiencies, and system testing.
- Travel required as necessary to meet business needs.
- In-person attendance for training, all-hands meetings, and other meaningful engagements.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Business Dev Specialist POD II
- Generate energy pricing and contract scenarios by evaluating utility requirements, market conditions, lead source, product structure, and customer specific needs.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support pricing requests, determine appropriate account structures and options, and coordinate non-standard requests with pricing and legal teams.
- Clearly and professionally communicates, in writing and verbally, with external parties (e.g. customers, prospects, and channel partners) and internally with sales, team members and other functions.
- Sends pricing and contracts directly to channel partners and customers.
- Evaluates current and historic account information, lead source, market, and product to ensure that we create the best account structure and present the best options.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with prospects, customers, channel partners, and internal teams regarding pricing, contracts, customer data, and contract execution.
- Maintain accurate and up to date customer and account data in the CRM system, including complex changes such as ownership updates, splits, name changes, and account hierarchy setup.
- Provide advanced data, technical, and process support to Business Development Managers, Account Managers, customers, and channel partners throughout the data validation process.
- Support process improvement efforts through ad hoc projects, data cleanup activities, new hire training, development of process efficiencies, and system testing.
- Serve as an internal resource and initial escalation point to resolve issues, facilitate coordination across functional groups, and support timely contract execution.
- Travel required as necessary to meet business needs.
- In-person attendance for training, all-hands meetings, and other meaningful engagements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Business Dev Specialist POD I
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Analytical skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving and independent decision making.
- Holds high standards of customer service and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Flexibility to handle multiple daily deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Business Dev Specialist POD II
- 1-year of relevant work experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Analytical skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving and independent decision making.
- Excellent customer service skills complimented by an ability to effectively interpret and respond to customers' issues.
- Flexibility to handle multiple daily deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Business Dev Specialist POD I & II
- Bachelor’s degree (4-year degree).
