Align your credentials to CBRE's Finance tracks
CBRE hires Finance professionals into distinct tracks: corporate FP&A, asset management accounting, and project cost control for construction. Tailor your resume to the specific track you're targeting, because a generalist finance background gets screened out faster than one anchored to real estate or capital project contexts.
Verify your OPT timeline before applying
If you're on F-1 OPT, calculate exactly how many months remain before your authorization expires. CBRE's Finance hiring cycles can run 8 to 12 weeks, so applying with fewer than four months of OPT remaining puts the offer and H-1B cap filing on a collision course.
Target CBRE's corporate finance teams over project finance
CBRE's corporate FP&A and investor reporting teams sit inside the enterprise business units, where sponsorship decisions are centralized through HR. Project-level finance roles tied to specific construction contracts sometimes fall under client-funded headcount, which can complicate or delay visa filing approvals.
Surface your sponsorship need early in screening
Recruiters at large real estate services firms like CBRE use USCIS E-Verify compliance as a standard onboarding step. Disclosing your visa status at the first recruiter call, rather than after an offer, prevents late-stage withdrawals and gives CBRE's immigration team enough runway to prepare the Labor Condition Application with DOL.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Finance roles at CBRE
Filtering for Finance roles at companies with active H-1B and TN sponsorship history takes hours manually. Migrate Mate surfaces CBRE's Finance openings alongside verified sponsorship data, so you're applying to positions where a path to work authorization already exists rather than guessing from a generic job board.
Prepare your PERM documentation early if targeting permanence
For EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship, CBRE's legal team initiates PERM recruitment well before filing. Finance roles requiring a CPA or CFA designation often qualify for the EB-2 category. Gathering degree transcripts, official translations, and credential evaluations before your first anniversary saves weeks when the process begins.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does CBRE sponsor H-1B visas for Finance roles?
Yes, CBRE sponsors H-1B visas for Finance positions. The company works with in-house and external immigration counsel to file H-1B petitions for qualifying roles such as financial analysts, FP&A managers, and investment accounting specialists. Sponsorship decisions are handled at the corporate level through HR, so the process is more standardized than at smaller real estate firms.
How do I apply for Finance jobs at CBRE?
Finance openings at CBRE are posted on their careers site and on third-party job boards. The most efficient approach is to filter specifically for Finance roles at companies with documented sponsorship history. Migrate Mate lets you browse CBRE's active Finance openings with sponsorship data already surfaced, so you can prioritize applications where your visa situation is a known fit before you invest time in the process.
Which visa types does CBRE commonly use for Finance hires?
CBRE sponsors across several categories for Finance roles. H-1B is the most common path for longer-term employment. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for students and recent graduates in analyst roles. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Finance positions. For candidates targeting permanent residence, CBRE has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Finance professionals, typically after the employee has been with the firm for at least a year.
What qualifications does CBRE expect for Finance roles?
Expectations vary by seniority, but most Finance roles at CBRE require a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, and many mid-level positions expect a CPA, CFA, or MBA. Real estate or construction industry experience is a differentiator, particularly for roles in project cost control or asset management accounting. Proficiency in Yardi, SAP, or similar enterprise systems is frequently listed as a requirement for property and investment accounting positions.
How long does CBRE's visa sponsorship process take for Finance hires?
Timeline depends on visa type. An H-1B cap filing tied to the April lottery means your offer needs to be in place before March registration. If you're transferring an existing H-1B from another employer, CBRE can file a portability petition and you can start working once it's received by USCIS, typically within a few weeks. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship takes considerably longer, often one to three years depending on your country of birth and priority date movement.
