Candidates typically move into the role after building a record in B2B sales, customer success, or regional sales representative positions. In sectors like healthcare or technology, industry certifications such as those from the Strategic Account Management Association can strengthen an application alongside demonstrated account growth results.
How much do key account managers make in Georgia?
Key account managers in Georgia earn a median of about $63,860 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $35,830 for the lowest 10% to over $134,350 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire key account managers in Georgia?
Employers hiring key account managers in Georgia right now include UniFirst, Builders FirstSource, and The Coca-Cola Company, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Georgia's concentration of logistics, financial technology, and enterprise software headquarters in the Atlanta metro creates consistent demand for experienced key account professionals across both established corporations and mid-market firms.
Which Georgia cities have the most key account manager jobs?
Atlanta, Savannah, and Alpharetta have the most key account manager openings in Georgia. Atlanta drives the largest share of postings due to its dense cluster of Fortune 500 headquarters, financial technology firms, and regional corporate offices, while Savannah's growing port and logistics sector and Augusta's healthcare and defense industry presence generate consistent demand in those markets.

Yes, and more than many sales roles, since key account management is relationship- and communication-driven work that translates well to remote formats. About 53% of key account manager openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting employer willingness to hire outside traditional office settings. Strategic planning, reporting, and internal coordination portions of the role tend to be most remote-friendly, while high-value client visits and onsite business reviews typically remain in person.

The most realistic entry path is through a sales development representative or inside sales role at a mid-size Atlanta technology or logistics company, where promotion into account management is structured and common. Large Georgia employers such as NCR Atleos and Genuine Parts Company run rotational or associate sales programs that place candidates without direct account management experience. Building a portfolio of client retention outcomes from adjacent roles like customer success, sales operations, or territory sales strengthens an application considerably for Georgia hiring managers.
