Office Manager Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a office manager in Missouri?
Office managers in Missouri do not require a state-issued license, but employers consistently favor candidates with a degree in business administration or a related field combined with several years of administrative experience. Many Missouri employers in healthcare settings expect familiarity with HIPAA compliance and medical office protocols. Earning a Certified Manager credential through the Institute of Certified Professional Managers strengthens candidacy significantly across Missouri's professional and healthcare sectors.
How much do office managers make in Missouri?
Office managers in Missouri earn a median of about $63,050 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $42,090 for the lowest 10% to over $100,300 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire office managers in Missouri?
Companies currently hiring office managers in Missouri include Aspen Dental, Clarkson Eyecare, and Eyecare Partners, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Missouri's concentration of large healthcare systems, financial services firms, and engineering companies means office manager roles appear consistently across both corporate headquarters and regional branch offices throughout the state.
Which Missouri cities have the most office manager jobs?
St. Louis, Kansas City, and Springfield have the most office manager openings in Missouri. Kansas City and St. Louis drive the largest share of postings because of their dense concentration of corporate headquarters, hospital systems, and professional services firms, while Springfield's growing healthcare and university sector generates a reliable secondary market for the role.
Are there remote office manager jobs in Missouri?
Yes, but they're limited. Office management is inherently on-site work involving facilities oversight, vendor coordination, and in-person team support, so fully remote positions are uncommon. About 11% of office manager openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. The tasks most likely to carry a hybrid arrangement are billing oversight, scheduling coordination, and administrative reporting.
How can I get hired as a office manager in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing an administrative assistant or office coordinator role first, then moving into management after demonstrating organizational and leadership ability. Large Missouri employers such as SSM Health and major Kansas City or St. Louis law firms regularly hire entry-level administrative staff and promote from within. Completing an associate degree in business administration at a Missouri community college and earning a professional certification such as the Certified Administrative Professional credential meaningfully strengthens applications for candidates without direct management experience.
Where can I find and apply to office manager jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to office manager jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state. Search the listings, find the roles that match your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
