Regional Account Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a regional account manager in New York?
Most regional account manager roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field plus prior sales or client-facing experience. New York does not issue a state license for account managers, so the hiring path centers on building a verifiable record of territory management or quota attainment. Candidates often move into the role from inside sales, business development, or customer success positions at New York-based companies.
How much do regional account managers make in New York?
Regional account managers in New York earn a median of about $217,640 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $107,670 for the lowest 10% to over $378,910 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire regional account managers in New York?
Employers hiring regional account managers in New York right now include Optum, Quench, and Fortinet, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New York's density of Fortune 500 headquarters, financial institutions, and enterprise technology firms means the role appears across a wide range of industries, from media and pharmaceuticals to SaaS and professional services.
Which New York cities have the most regional account manager jobs?
New York, Albany, and Manhattan have the most regional account manager openings in New York. New York City dominates because of its concentration of corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and enterprise technology companies, while Albany draws openings tied to state government contractors and healthcare organizations, and Buffalo's manufacturing and financial sectors support steady regional sales demand outside the metro.
Are there remote regional account manager jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most sales roles, since account management for SaaS and financial products is well suited to remote work. About 80% of regional account manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely employers have adopted flexible arrangements for client-facing roles that don't require daily on-site presence. Fully remote openings are most common in enterprise software and media.
How can I get hired as a regional account manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales or sales development representative role at a New York-based company, which builds the quota and CRM experience hiring managers look for. Large employers in the city's tech and financial services sectors regularly hire for associate account manager programs that feed into regional roles. A Salesforce certification or demonstrated success in customer success gives candidates a clear edge when competing for a first account management position.
