Regional Sales Manager Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a regional sales manager in Massachusetts?
Most regional sales managers in Massachusetts progress from senior individual contributor or account executive roles after consistently meeting or exceeding quota. Massachusetts does not require a state-issued license for sales management, but employers in regulated sectors such as insurance or financial services may require a Massachusetts-specific Series 65, Series 7, or insurance producer license through the Massachusetts Division of Insurance. A bachelor's degree in business or a related field, combined with demonstrated leadership experience, is the standard hiring path.
How much do regional sales managers make in Massachusetts?
Regional sales managers in Massachusetts earn a median of about $191,200 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $100,510 for the lowest 10% to over $321,000 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire regional sales managers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring regional sales managers in Massachusetts right now include CrowdStrike, IDEX Corporation, and Prodrive Technologies, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of life sciences companies, enterprise technology firms, and major financial institutions along the Route 128 corridor creates consistent regional sales management demand year-round.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most regional sales manager jobs?
Boston, Massachusetts, and Danvers have the most regional sales manager openings in Massachusetts. Boston drives the largest share due to its dense cluster of biotech, SaaS, and financial services headquarters, while Worcester and suburban Route 128 communities like Waltham and Lexington attract regional sales roles tied to the medtech and defense technology employers headquartered there.
Are there remote regional sales manager jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and they are more common than in many management roles. About 81% of regional sales manager openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how many technology and SaaS companies have shifted to distributed sales leadership. The strategic and coaching elements of the role transfer well to remote work, while field-facing responsibilities tied to life sciences capital equipment typically require in-territory presence.
How can I get hired as a regional sales manager in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a team lead or sales supervisor role within a current employer before pursuing a full manager title. Large Massachusetts-based employers such as Thermo Fisher Scientific and Fidelity Investments run structured rotational and associate leadership programs that prioritize internal promotions. Candidates coming from account executive or senior territory manager roles in life sciences, SaaS, or financial services have the clearest lateral path. Earning a Massachusetts insurance producer license or a relevant CRM certification strengthens a candidacy when formal management experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to regional sales manager jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to regional sales manager jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current Massachusetts openings. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level, territory preference, and industry focus, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
