Sales Development Representative Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales development representative in Tennessee?
Sales development representative roles in Tennessee require no state-issued license or certification. Most employers expect at minimum a high school diploma, though a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communications gives candidates a clear edge in competitive Nashville and Memphis markets. Building proficiency in CRM software, completing a structured sales training program, and pursuing vendor certifications such as Salesforce Administrator or HubSpot Sales Software strengthens a Tennessee application considerably.
How much do sales development representatives make in Tennessee?
Sales development representatives in Tennessee earn a median of about $60,230 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $33,900 for the lowest 10% to over $115,740 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales development representatives in Tennessee?
Employers hiring sales development representatives in Tennessee right now include Camping World, Denver Mattress, and Corpay, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's concentration of healthcare technology firms headquartered in the Nashville area, alongside logistics and financial services companies in Memphis and Brentwood, means SDR demand is spread across several high-growth sectors rather than a single industry.
Which Tennessee cities have the most sales development representative jobs?
Nashville, Chattanooga, and Franklin are the Tennessee cities with the most sales development representative openings. Nashville leads because it serves as a headquarters hub for healthcare technology, SaaS, and financial services companies, while Memphis benefits from its large logistics, distribution, and B2B services sector, and Brentwood's dense concentration of corporate offices draws consistent SDR hiring from mid-market and enterprise software firms based there.
Are there remote sales development representative jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than most fields, since SDR work is phone and email-driven and easily performed off-site. About 67% of sales development representative openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well the role translates to distributed teams. Outbound prospecting, email sequencing, and CRM management are the functions most commonly approved for fully remote arrangements by Tennessee employers.
How can I get hired as a sales development representative in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for business development representative or sales associate roles at Nashville-area healthcare technology or SaaS companies, many of which run structured SDR academy programs designed for recent graduates. Employers such as those anchored in Nashville's healthcare IT corridor routinely hire candidates from customer service, retail management, or account coordination backgrounds. Completing a recognized sales training certification and demonstrating CRM familiarity in a portfolio or cover letter gives Tennessee applicants without direct SDR experience a concrete advantage.
Where can I find and apply to sales development representative jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to sales development representative jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings from employers actively hiring. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly without creating a profile or signing up first.
