The typical path runs through several years in sales operations, account management, or business analyst roles at Michigan companies before moving into strategy. An MBA from a Michigan institution such as the University of Michigan Ross School of Business or Michigan State University's Broad College can accelerate the transition into senior positions.
How much do sales strategy managers make in Michigan?
Sales strategy managers in Michigan earn a median of about $136,870 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $69,790 for the lowest 10% to over $230,070 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales strategy managers in Michigan?

Michigan's deep base of automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and mid-market B2B technology firms creates steady and recurring demand for this role across the state.
Which Michigan cities have the most sales strategy manager jobs?
Novi, Troy, and Livonia are the Michigan cities with the most sales strategy manager openings. Detroit leads because of its concentration of automotive headquarters, financial services firms, and regional corporate offices, while Grand Rapids draws demand from office furniture manufacturers, healthcare systems, and a growing technology sector, and Ann Arbor attracts roles tied to its research university ecosystem and software companies.
