Which insurance companies in Minnesota are known to sponsor E-3 visas?
Several large carriers and financial services firms with Minnesota headquarters or major offices have histories of sponsoring specialty occupation visas, including E-3s. Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America in Minneapolis, Securian Financial, and Travelers' Minnesota operations are among the larger employers in the state's insurance sector that hire internationally for technical and professional roles.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and St. Paul together account for the overwhelming majority of insurance E-3 sponsorship opportunities in Minnesota. The Twin Cities metro hosts the state's largest concentration of insurance carriers, reinsurers, and financial services firms. Rochester sees some demand tied to health insurance roles connected to the medical sector there, but the metro area is where most hiring activity is concentrated.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Minnesota?
Roles that typically qualify as specialty occupations include actuarial analysts, underwriters, risk analysts, data scientists, compliance officers, and financial analysts within insurance firms. These positions generally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related discipline. General administrative or sales roles without a degree requirement tied to a specific field are less likely to qualify.
How do I find insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for E-3 visa holders and filters job listings by visa type, state, and industry, making it straightforward to browse insurance roles in Minnesota where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. Rather than sorting through general job boards and guessing at sponsorship, Migrate Mate lets you focus your search on positions relevant to your E-3 status and the Minnesota insurance market.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in the insurance industry?
Minnesota requires insurance professionals in certain licensed roles, such as adjusters or producers, to hold a state-issued license regardless of visa status. For E-3 purposes, the position itself must qualify as a specialty occupation, so licensing requirements can actually support that case by demonstrating that the role demands specialized knowledge. Employers in the state are generally familiar with professional visa sponsorship given Minnesota's large financial services sector.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 insurance jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
