Which construction companies sponsor H-1B visas in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire's H-1B visa construction sponsors tend to be larger firms with the legal infrastructure to file petitions. PC Construction, Milestone Engineering and Construction, and national contractors like Turner Construction and Skanska have active project footprints in the state. Engineering-focused subsidiaries and infrastructure firms working on state transportation and utility projects are also common H-1B sponsors in this sector.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most construction H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Manchester and Nashua account for the highest concentration of construction H-1B activity in New Hampshire, driven by commercial real estate development and proximity to the Massachusetts border. Concord sees sponsorship activity tied to state government infrastructure contracts. Portsmouth also generates demand through waterfront development and expanding commercial construction along the Seacoast region.
What types of construction roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B eligibility requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must normally require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. In construction, roles that commonly meet this standard include structural engineers, civil engineers, project engineers, construction managers with engineering degrees, and geotechnical or environmental specialists. General trades and site supervision roles without a degree requirement typically do not qualify.
How do I find construction H-1B sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for H-1B sponsorship roles. You can filter by industry and state to surface construction positions in New Hampshire where employers have a documented history of sponsoring H-1B workers. This saves significant time compared to manually researching which firms have filed Labor Condition Applications with the Department of Labor.
Are there any state-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in New Hampshire's construction sector?
New Hampshire does not impose additional state-level requirements on top of federal H-1B rules, but the state's construction market is project-driven, meaning sponsorship opportunities can be tied to specific contract cycles. Employers must still file a certified Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor and meet prevailing wage requirements for the Manchester-Nashua or other relevant metropolitan statistical areas, which affect wage compliance obligations.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B construction jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
