About Us
Premier Pump & Supply, Inc. is a service-oriented wholesale supplier for the water well industry, specializing in water treatment and submersible pump systems. We have proudly served New England and Eastern New York since 1993.
Headquartered in Northfield, NH, we operate with the support of three additional warehouses in Oakland, ME, Medway, MA, and High Falls, NY, ensuring fast and reliable fulfillment across the region.
Aligning with top-tier manufacturers, Premier continues to grow by delivering unmatched technical support and customer service. We’re driven by more than just products; we’re here to create value, build trust, and move the industry forward through innovation, meaningful partnerships, and a relentless focus on helping our customers succeed.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a motivated and self-driven Outside Sales Representative who thrives in the field, supporting contractors and building relationships face-to-face. This role is responsible for managing our established Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island territory. We’re not just looking to fill a position; we want someone ready to take ownership of the territory and treat it like it’s their own business.
This territory has a strong existing customer base, the support of our entire team, and significant room for continued growth. We need an outside sales hunter who can identify those opportunities, build relationships, earn business, and take the territory to the next level.
Industry experience is not required. You don't need to walk through the door as a pump or water treatment expert. What matters most is your ability to sell, your willingness to learn, your work ethic, and your drive to grow.
You'll be fully supported with real-world coaching, hands-on guidance, manufacturer resources, and ongoing technical and sales training. Our sales team participates in weekly training sessions designed to continually improve product knowledge, technical ability, and the skills needed to sell solutions in the field.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Visiting well drilling and water system contractors on-site or at their businesses.
- Supporting customers with product recommendations, questions, pricing, and service.
- Collaborating closely with our inside team and technical staff to deliver solutions.
- Building relationships and earning trust through consistent follow-up and support.
- Driving territory growth through proactive prospecting and value-added selling.
- Keeping your customers informed about industry changes, system upgrades, and promotions.
What You’ll Learn
- How to size and sell pumps (submersible, centrifugal, booster, sump, chemical feed, and more)
- How to size and sell variable speed drives and pump controls
- How to size and sell water treatment systems (softeners, filters, reverse osmosis, UV, and more)
- How to test water for secondary water contaminants
- How to interpret lab test results and identify primary water contaminants
- How to troubleshoot water treatment and water well systems in real time
Keys to Success
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented
- Genuinely enjoy helping people and adding value
- Organized—you plan your days and weeks with purpose
- Humble and honest—if you don’t know the answer, say so, then impress with how quickly you find it
- An active listener who asks the right questions to uncover solutions
- Willing to learn from mistakes and keep moving forward
- Persistent and reliable with strong follow-through
- Communicate professionally and adapt to different personalities
- Comfortable with high-volume customer interaction (in person, phone, text, email)
- Team player who respects all roles
- Take ownership, stay responsive, and check communication channels frequently
- Ask for help when needed

- Total first-year On-Target Earnings (OTE): $75,000–$80,000+

Outside Sales Representative Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a outside sales representative in Massachusetts?
Most outside sales representative roles in Massachusetts require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though many employers will consider candidates with equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. Massachusetts does not require a general state-issued license for outside sales work, but roles in specific sectors like insurance require a Massachusetts Producer License issued through the Division of Insurance. Building product knowledge in a target industry and gaining experience in inside sales or customer-facing roles provides a strong foundation.
How much do outside sales representatives make in Massachusetts?
Outside sales representatives in Massachusetts earn a median of about $79,810 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,940 for the lowest 10% to over $157,000 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire outside sales representatives in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring outside sales representatives in Massachusetts right now include The Granite, UniFirst, and National Federation of Independent Business, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of life sciences, technology, and financial services firms means outside sales roles here often focus on complex, consultative selling to business and institutional clients.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most outside sales representative jobs?
Boston, Springfield, and Sandwich have the most outside sales representative openings in Massachusetts. Boston drives volume as the state's commercial hub, home to major technology, biotech, and financial services employers, while Worcester and Waltham reflect strong demand from industrial distributors and the Route 128 technology corridor, where many outside sales territories are headquartered or managed.
Are there remote outside sales representative jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, but they're rare. Outside sales is inherently field-based, requiring regular in-person visits to clients and prospects across an assigned territory. About 61% of outside sales representative openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to concentrate in technology or software sales roles where product demonstrations can be conducted virtually rather than on-site.
How can I get hired as a outside sales representative in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales or sales development representative role, which many Massachusetts employers use as a direct pipeline into outside sales territory positions. Large employers across the Route 128 corridor and Boston's Seaport district regularly hire for associate or junior sales roles that include structured training programs. Earning a HubSpot Sales or Salesforce certification demonstrates CRM proficiency and gives candidates a practical edge when competing for first outside sales territory assignments.
Where can I find and apply to outside sales representative jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to outside sales representative jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current Massachusetts openings updated regularly. Find roles that fit your experience and territory preferences, then apply directly to the employers posting them.
