Regional Sales Manager Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a regional sales manager in Tennessee?
Most regional sales managers in Tennessee build toward the role by first holding individual contributor sales positions, often in the industry they want to manage. Tennessee does not require a state-issued license for sales management in most industries, though medical device and pharmaceutical representatives may need manufacturer credentialing or hospital vendor clearance. A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is the standard baseline, and internal promotions from account executive or territory sales roles are the most common path.
How much do regional sales managers make in Tennessee?
Regional sales managers in Tennessee earn a median of about $128,040 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $67,220 for the lowest 10% to over $231,830 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire regional sales managers in Tennessee?
Employers hiring regional sales managers in Tennessee right now include customkartsuits, ALP, and ODL, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's concentration of healthcare systems, logistics firms, and manufacturing headquarters means demand is especially steady in those sectors year-round.
Which Tennessee cities have the most regional sales manager jobs?
Nashville, Knoxville, and Morristown have the most regional sales manager openings in Tennessee. Nashville drives the largest share due to its headquarters density in healthcare, technology, and financial services, while Memphis reflects strong demand from logistics and distribution companies, and Knoxville benefits from industrial manufacturing and retail trade employers concentrated in East Tennessee.
Are there remote regional sales manager jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based roles because regional sales managers typically own a physical territory and meet clients in person. About 67% of regional sales manager openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions tend to concentrate strategic planning and reporting duties rather than field coverage.
How can I get hired as a regional sales manager in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing an account executive, sales development representative, or territory sales role with a large Tennessee employer and moving into management from within. Companies like HCA Healthcare, FedEx, and regional manufacturing distributors regularly promote high performers into their first manager roles. Building a record in a named vertical, such as medical supplies or industrial equipment, and earning a relevant manufacturer certification strengthens a candidacy before any formal management experience exists.
Where can I find and apply to regional sales manager jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to regional sales manager jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings updated regularly. Find roles that fit your experience and territory preference, then apply directly to the employers posting them.
