Sales Account Manager Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales account manager in Indiana?
Most Indiana employers require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a closely related field, though candidates with an associate degree and strong sales results are sometimes considered. No state-issued license is required for the general account manager role in Indiana. The typical path is to start in inside sales or a business development representative role at an Indianapolis-area employer, build quota history, then move into a full account management position.
How much do sales account managers make in Indiana?
Sales account managers in Indiana earn a median of about $131,470 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $69,570 for the lowest 10% to over $231,350 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales account managers in Indiana?
Indiana sales account manager roles are posted by SumUp, SunSource, and Mariner Finance and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indiana's strong manufacturing, life sciences, and logistics sectors mean many of these openings focus on industrial, healthcare, or supply-chain solution sales.
Which Indiana cities have the most sales account manager jobs?
Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Fishers account for the largest share of sales account manager openings in Indiana. Indianapolis dominates because it is the state's commercial and corporate headquarters hub, while Fort Wayne and Evansville draw openings from regional manufacturing and distribution employers that maintain dedicated sales teams serving those industrial corridors.
Are there remote sales account manager jobs in Indiana?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 56% of sales account manager openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how common it is for account managers to work from a home office and visit clients on their own schedule. The most fully remote openings tend to be in software, SaaS, and national account roles that do not require regular in-person territory coverage.
How can I get hired as a sales account manager in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a business development representative or inside sales role at one of Indiana's larger corporate employers, such as the technology and healthcare companies headquartered in Indianapolis. Many of these employers run structured sales development programs that rotate new hires into account management after hitting early targets. Earning a Salesforce certification or completing a HubSpot sales training course signals readiness, and moving laterally from a customer success or sales operations role is another door that Indiana hiring managers recognize.
Where can I find and apply to sales account manager jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to sales account manager jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Indiana openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find the roles that match your experience and preferred territory, and apply directly to each one.
