Sales Manager Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales manager in Missouri?
Most sales manager roles in Missouri require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline, combined with several years of proven sales performance. Missouri does not issue a state-specific sales manager license, so advancement typically follows a path from individual contributor to team lead to manager within an organization. Completing a Missouri-based MBA program or earning a Certified Sales Leadership Professional credential strengthens a candidacy considerably.
How much do sales managers make in Missouri?
Sales managers in Missouri earn a median of about $115,370 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,920 for the lowest 10% to over $223,340 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales managers in Missouri?
Employers hiring sales managers in Missouri right now include AutoZone, Aaron's, and Carter's, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Missouri's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and major regional distributors means large, established employers account for a significant share of open roles across the state.
Which Missouri cities have the most sales manager jobs?
Kansas City, St. Louis, and Columbia have the most sales manager openings in Missouri. Kansas City and St. Louis drive the bulk of demand because of their dense clusters of financial services firms, healthcare systems, and manufacturing headquarters, while Springfield's strong retail, insurance, and regional distribution base supports a consistent volume of openings that gives it a steady presence on the list.
Are there remote sales manager jobs in Missouri?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since sales manager roles frequently require in-person coaching, client visits, and territory coverage. About 29% of sales manager openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with remote arrangements most common in inside sales leadership and SaaS or software verticals where the entire team operates digitally.
How can I get hired as a sales manager in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a sales manager role after excelling as a senior account executive or team lead, rather than applying directly from an individual contributor role. Large Missouri employers like Emerson Electric and major Kansas City-area healthcare distributors run associate or developmental sales leadership programs that bring in high-performing reps without formal management experience. Building a record of consistent quota achievement and volunteering to mentor newer reps signals readiness before a formal title change.
Where can I find and apply to sales manager jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to sales manager jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your industry background and experience level, then apply directly to whichever positions fit your goals.
