Strategic Account Manager Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategic account manager in Tennessee?
Most strategic account manager roles in Tennessee require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a closely related field, though some employers accept equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. Tennessee does not issue a state license for this role, so the hiring path runs through demonstrated B2B sales results, CRM proficiency, and industry knowledge in sectors like healthcare IT or logistics. Building experience as an account executive or inside sales representative at a Nashville, Memphis, or Knoxville employer is the most direct route.
How much do strategic account managers make in Tennessee?
Strategic account managers in Tennessee earn a median of about $60,230 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $33,900 for the lowest 10% to over $115,740 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire strategic account managers in Tennessee?
Employers hiring strategic account managers in Tennessee right now include CVS Health, The Cigna, and Corpay, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's concentration of healthcare systems, logistics companies, and technology firms means demand stays consistent across both enterprise software and service-based account management roles.
Which Tennessee cities have the most strategic account manager jobs?
Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville have the most strategic account manager openings in Tennessee. Nashville drives the largest share of listings because of its dense concentration of healthcare corporations, SaaS companies, and financial services firms, while Memphis generates strong demand through its logistics and supply chain sector anchored by major distribution operations, and Knoxville adds openings tied to its manufacturing and technology base in East Tennessee.
Are there remote strategic account manager jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 70% of strategic account manager openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how central territory management, virtual client meetings, and digital CRM workflows have become in this role. The portions of the job most commonly performed remotely include pipeline management, renewal negotiations, and executive business reviews with clients outside the immediate metro.
How can I get hired as a strategic account manager in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a sales development representative or inside sales role at a mid-size to large Tennessee employer, then transitioning into account management after demonstrating quota attainment. Nashville-area healthcare technology companies and Memphis-based logistics firms regularly hire for these feeder roles. A Salesforce certification or HubSpot sales credential strengthens a junior candidate's profile significantly. Some enterprise employers in Tennessee also run formal sales rotational programs or associate account manager tracks designed for candidates early in their careers.
Where can I find and apply to strategic account manager jobs in Tennessee?
