Sales Account Executive Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales account executive in Tennessee?
Most sales account executive roles in Tennessee require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though some employers prioritize demonstrated sales results over specific majors. Tennessee does not require a state-issued license for general sales account executive work. Candidates typically enter through inside sales or business development representative roles, then advance by building a verifiable record of quota attainment and client retention with Tennessee-based employers.
How much do sales account executives make in Tennessee?
Sales account executives in Tennessee earn a median of about $61,630 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $34,350 for the lowest 10% to over $128,130 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales account executives in Tennessee?
Employers hiring sales account executives in Tennessee right now include Comcast, AbbVie, and T-Mobile, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's concentration of healthcare, technology services, and logistics companies means ongoing demand for account executives who can manage complex B2B relationships across the state.
Which Tennessee cities have the most sales account executive jobs?
Nashville, Knoxville, and Memphis have the most sales account executive openings in Tennessee. Nashville leads because it is home to a dense cluster of healthcare companies, SaaS firms, and corporate headquarters, while Memphis benefits from a large logistics and supply chain industry anchored by major distribution and freight employers, and Knoxville draws demand from regional technology and manufacturing accounts.
Are there remote sales account executive jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than most fields, since sales account executive work is fundamentally communication-driven and does not require a fixed physical location. About 83% of sales account executive openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have adopted flexible arrangements for this role. Prospecting, discovery calls, and contract management are the functions most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a sales account executive in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a sales development representative or inside sales representative with a Tennessee-based employer, then converting to a full account executive role after demonstrating pipeline performance. Large Nashville healthcare and technology companies regularly bring on junior sales staff through associate sales programs. A Salesforce certification or documented internship experience in B2B sales gives candidates a clear edge when applying without a formal quota history.
Where can I find and apply to sales account executive jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to sales account executive jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and preferred location, then apply directly to the employer.
