Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Cloud Solutions Engineer
Target cloud-native employers first
Companies running large AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments sponsor most consistently. Focus on mid-size SaaS firms and cloud consultancies where the role is core to the business, not a supporting function.
Align your degree to the job description
USCIS scrutinizes whether your degree field matches the role. A computer science or information systems degree maps cleanly. Engineering or mathematics degrees can qualify, but you may need to document the connection explicitly.
Get cloud certifications before applying
AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or Google Cloud Professional certificates strengthen your petition. They signal employer demand for specialized knowledge and support the specialty occupation argument USCIS uses for H-1B approval.
Document cloud platform experience in detail
Generic 'cloud experience' isn't enough for a strong petition. List specific services, architectures, and migrations you've led. The more technical your evidence, the easier it is for your employer's attorney to build a compelling case.
Browse Migrate Mate for verified sponsoring employers
Not every employer who posts a Cloud Solutions Engineer role will sponsor. Migrate Mate filters for employers with active sponsorship history, saving you from applying to roles where sponsorship was never a real option.

Find Cloud Solutions Engineer JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does a Cloud Solutions Engineer role qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Yes. Cloud Solutions Engineer consistently qualifies as an H-1B specialty occupation because the role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field. USCIS has approved this job title regularly, particularly when the petition details specific technical responsibilities like cloud architecture design, infrastructure automation, or platform migration work rather than generic IT support duties.
What degree do I need for an employer to sponsor a Cloud Solutions Engineer visa?
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or electrical engineering is the standard. Information technology and management information systems degrees also qualify in most cases. If your degree is in a less directly related field, a strong record of specialized cloud certifications and documented work experience can help bridge the gap, though this requires more documentation from your employer's immigration attorney.
Are there visa options besides H-1B for Cloud Solutions Engineers?
Australian citizens can use the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and can be renewed indefinitely in two-year increments. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify for TN status under the computer systems analyst category. Workers with a demonstrated track record of exceptional cloud contributions, such as publishing widely adopted open-source infrastructure tools or leading large-scale migrations, may also be worth evaluating for O-1A.
Which employers sponsor Cloud Solutions Engineers most often?
Cloud consultancies, managed service providers, and SaaS companies with significant cloud infrastructure tend to sponsor most consistently. Enterprises running large-scale migrations to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud also file regularly. You can browse verified sponsoring employers for this role directly on Migrate Mate, which filters for companies with an active sponsorship track record rather than those who simply list the option in job postings.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new Cloud Solutions Engineer role without losing my place in the green card queue?
Yes, if you're changing to a same or similar occupational classification and your new employer files an H-1B transfer before your current status expires, your priority date from any existing I-140 approval is preserved. Cloud Solutions Engineer to Cloud Solutions Engineer or similar infrastructure roles typically satisfies the same-or-similar standard. Consult an immigration attorney before accepting the new offer to confirm your specific case qualifies before you resign.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Cloud Solutions Engineer jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
