About the role of the Software Development Engineer III position
Are you looking to make a difference in the healthcare space utilizing innovative technology in a close-knit team environment? Premera is looking for a Software Development Engineer III to support the Corporate Services team. As a Software Engineer III you are responsible for building cloud-based solutions on Azure using programming languages like C# and technologies like Microsoft power platform to make an employee’s day better at Premera. You will be a part of a team that has experience with multiple technology disciplines with a focus on corporate functions like employee experience, finance, legal and regulatory business streams. This role requires strong technical and analytical skills, a learning mindset and knowledge of engineering practices like system design, TDD/automated unit testing in a DevSecOps environment.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and enhance solutions using Azure cloud technologies, RESTful .NET web API services, CI/CD, and TDD.
- Build SQLs to extract data from RDBMS databases like SQL servers.
- Build flows and automation on Power Platform.
- Work with the product, architecture and business teams to influence and drive technical decisions within the team.
- Work with a system improvement mindset. Provide technical advice to the team as and when needed.
- Work in an agile team with the opportunity to pair and mob with other engineers.
- Contribute to team’s engineering standards to build secure, durable and reliable solutions that meet Premera’s engineering excellence principles.
- Continue to grow your skills through Premera sponsored educational opportunities.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems, or 4 years equivalent experience. ( Required )
- 5+ years of software development experience. ( Required )
- Experience with Azure and a programming language like C#, Java. (Strongly Preferred)
- Utilizing tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio MS SQL Server & Power Platform.
- Experience working with cloud solutions.
- Experience using and creating automated test tools.
- Experience with live site culture is preferred.
- Experience working in an Agile environment and familiarity with Agile delivery model.
- Experience building applications, web apps, integrations, APIs in Azure.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
National Salary Range:
$98,100.00 - $166,800.00
National Plus Salary Range:
$111,900.00 - $190,200.00
National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
