Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Tax Analyst
Target Big Four and mid-tier firms
Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, and firms like RSM and Grant Thornton have established visa sponsorship programs and file hundreds of H-1B petitions annually for tax professionals.
Emphasize specialized tax knowledge
Highlight expertise in specific tax areas like international taxation, transfer pricing, or state and local tax to demonstrate the specialized knowledge H-1B requires.
Consider entry-level programs
Many firms hire new graduates into rotational tax programs that include sponsorship. These structured programs often have higher sponsorship rates than lateral hires.
Pursue relevant certifications
CPA eligibility or progress toward certification strengthens your specialty occupation case and makes you more attractive to employers willing to sponsor visas.
Apply during peak hiring seasons
Tax firms hire heavily in fall for busy season coverage. This timing aligns well with H-1B lottery registration periods in early spring.
Look beyond traditional tax roles
Corporate tax departments, government contractors, and financial services companies also hire tax analysts and may have less competition for sponsored positions.

Find Tax Analyst JobsFrequently Asked Questions
What degree do I need for Tax Analyst H-1B sponsorship?
You need a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a closely related field. The degree requirement must be directly tied to tax analysis duties. Some employers accept business administration degrees with substantial accounting coursework, but accounting or finance degrees provide the strongest specialty occupation case for USCIS approval.
Do Tax Analyst positions qualify as specialty occupations?
Yes, Tax Analyst roles typically qualify as H-1B specialty occupations when they require applying complex tax regulations, analyzing financial data, and preparing compliance reports. USCIS generally approves these positions because tax analysis requires specialized accounting knowledge that directly correlates to degree requirements in finance or accounting fields.
Which companies sponsor Tax Analysts for work visas?
Big Four accounting firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG) are the largest sponsors, along with mid-tier firms like RSM, Grant Thornton, and BDO. Corporate employers include Fortune 500 companies with large tax departments, financial services firms, and government contractors. Public accounting firms generally have higher sponsorship rates than corporate tax departments.
Can Australians get E-3 visas for Tax Analyst jobs?
Yes, Tax Analyst positions qualify for E-3 visas when they require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field and involve specialized tax analysis duties. Australian citizens can use the E-3 as an alternative to the H-1B lottery, with the same employer LCA requirements but no annual cap limitations.
What's the visa approval rate for Tax Analyst positions?
H-1B petitions for accounting and tax roles generally have high approval rates, typically above 85%, because they clearly meet specialty occupation requirements. Denials usually occur when the job duties are too general or when the degree field doesn't closely match the position requirements. Well-documented cases with Big Four firms have particularly strong approval rates.
How to find Tax Analyst jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Tax Analyst positions with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting international candidates with sponsoring employers. Focus your search on accounting firms, multinational corporations, and financial services companies that commonly sponsor H-1B, TN, or other work visas for tax professionals. These employers typically need Tax Analysts for compliance, planning, and reporting roles across various jurisdictions.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Tax Analyst jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
