Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain PLC programs for large-scale manufacturing control systems using structured and object-oriented programming approaches
- Design and build reusable function blocks and control libraries aligned with internal and industry standards
- Serve as a technical resource for industrial control systems, providing guidance, troubleshooting support, and mentorship to plant teams
- Create and maintain system documentation including control narratives, engineering drawings, and project-related materials
- Establish and continuously improve company-wide standards for control systems, programming practices, and documentation
- Support troubleshooting and optimization of operational technology systems across multiple facilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, maintenance, and operations
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancements
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development efforts
- Travel up to 15% to support manufacturing sites and project work
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of experience in PLC programming and control systems
- 3+ years of experience with Siemens platforms, including TIA Portal, process control, and motion control systems
Preferred Experience
- Experience with control algorithms and electrical systems
- Familiarity with Siemens Simatic Manager, instrumentation, and PID loop tuning
- Exposure to mechanical systems and integrated manufacturing environments
- Experience with object-oriented programming methodologies
Work Environment
- Combination of office and industrial plant settings
- Regular movement between office spaces and production floors
- Exposure to industrial conditions including machinery, noise, heat, dust, and chemicals
- Must be able to follow all safety protocols and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
