Vice President Jobs in USA with Visa Sponsorship
Vice presidents are sponsored primarily through L-1A managerial and executive transfers at multinational corporations including Google, Amazon, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Unilever, and Pfizer for roles overseeing business units, functional departments, and strategic initiatives with P&L ownership and professional team leadership. H-1B visa also works when VP roles specify advanced degrees in engineering, finance, or specialized fields, and EB-1C multinational executive green cards provide an accelerated permanent residency pathway that skips PERM labor certification entirely for VPs transferring from international offices to U.S. executive positions.

INTRODUCTION
LineVision is hiring an operating executive who can turn grid intelligence software and hardware into the systems regulated utilities depend on to run their operations.
We are seeking a VP of Engineering to own engineering delivery across our software and hardware organizations. You will run delivery of Nexus Core, our next-generation multi-tenant SaaS platform for dynamic line rating, as it moves past launch and into daily operations for a growing base of utility customers. You will also bring the engineering judgment behind the current wave of hardware evolution on our field-deployed sensor. If you want to build and run a development organization at pace across software and hardware, and be accountable for the commitments regulated utilities depend on, join us at LineVision, Built In Boston Best Places to Work!
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities and Key Performance Objectives
- Lead engineering delivery across Platform, Applications, Embedded Software, Data Science, and Hardware Engineering, with every director and manager in these functions reporting through this role.
- Drive Nexus Core's ongoing release cadence, across multi-tenant SaaS and on-premise deployments for regulated, international customers.
- Guide the field-deployed sensor fleet, including health monitoring, lifecycle management, and the next-generation sensor launch, bringing hardware design judgment to component and subsystem trade-offs.
- Establish delivery standards and a reporting cadence across the org: milestone-level, on track or not, with a named owner for every commitment.
- Represent engineering to the executive team and partner with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance on delivery commitments, forecasting, and customer escalations.
Within the first 3 months:
- Develop a working command of Nexus Core's architecture and release history, the sensor fleet's current state, and the org structure across all four functions.
- Stand up a milestone-level reporting cadence with named owners across Platform, Applications, Data Science, and Hardware/Firmware.
- Build working relationships with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance leaders on delivery commitments and forecasting.
Within the first 6 months:
- Run Nexus Core's release cadence against hard external commitments for existing SaaS and on-premise customers.
- Drive the component and subsystem decisions for the next-generation sensor launch, working closely with the hardware/firmware manager.
- Next-generation sensor design decisions are locked and moving through execution toward launch.
Milestones within the first year:
- Nexus Core is on a predictable release cadence that consistently meets external commitments across SaaS and on-premise deployments.
- The org is staffed with strong managers and senior ICs across Platform, Applications, Data Science, and Hardware/Firmware.
HOW TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE
Key Competencies
- Critical Thinking: Diagnose complex delivery, architecture, and hardware trade-offs across software and hardware. Push the organization toward evidence-based decisions over assumptions.
- Taking Ownership: Own delivery outcomes for Nexus Core and the sensor fleet end to end. Hold every commitment to a named owner and a clear status.
- Judgment & Decision Making: Weigh risk and opportunity across competing priorities in software and hardware delivery. Make the call, communicate it clearly, and stand behind it.
- Stakeholder Management: Align Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance on delivery commitments and forecasts. Represent engineering credibly to the executive team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 12+ years in engineering, with several years leading engineering organizations that shipped production software to external customers, preferably in industrial markets.
- Track record delivering a multi-tenant SaaS platform from architecture through general availability, then running its ongoing release cadence against hard external commitments.
- Experience running on-premise or privately deployed software for enterprise customers with strict security or compliance requirements.
- Hands-on hardware design experience for industrial or field-deployed products, including environmental hardening and certifications (UL, CE, FCC, IP-rated enclosures).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Startup experience ramping a company from 1-N.
- NERC CIP or comparable regulated critical-infrastructure experience.
- Personally built data products or analytics platforms, not just partnered with the team building them.
- Grid intelligence or dynamic line rating domain experience, or direct hardware/firmware, embedded, or OTA background.
REPORTING & TEAM STRUCTURE
- Reports to the CTO.
- Lead an organization of 35+ full-time leaders, engineers and contractors, spanning Platform, Applications, and Embedded Software, Data Science, and Hardware Engineering.
- Collaborates closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance.

L-1A Executive Transfer Is the Primary VP Pathway
Google, Amazon, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Unilever, and Pfizer transfer VPs on L-1A from international offices to U.S. leadership positions. L-1A executive classification requires managing a major function or business unit and bypasses the H-1B lottery.
Banking VP Titles Are Mid-Level and Sponsor at High Volume
VP at JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley is a mid-career title equivalent to manager at other companies, and banks sponsor hundreds of VPs annually. These roles pay $150,000 to $350,000 with bonuses in investment banking, trading, and risk.
Technology Company VPs Earn the Highest Total Compensation
Google, Amazon, Meta, Apple, and Microsoft sponsor for VPs of engineering, product, sales, and operations managing large organizations. Total compensation ranges from $350,000 to $1,000,000+ with substantial equity grants.
EB-1C Multinational Executive Green Card Skips PERM
VPs transferring on L-1A from international offices qualify for EB-1C immigrant visa classification without PERM labor certification. EB-1C processing is significantly faster and provides permanent residency for executives managing major functions.
O-1 Extraordinary Ability Works for VPs With Exceptional Track Records
VPs with industry awards, published thought leadership, board memberships, and documented business impact qualify for O-1 visa without the lottery. O-1 has no annual cap and is strong for executives with quantifiable company-level achievements.
Consulting and Professional Services VP Titles Sponsor Routinely
McKinsey, Deloitte, Accenture, and PwC sponsor for VP-equivalent titles like principal, managing director, and partner managing practice areas and client portfolios. These roles pay $300,000 to $800,000 with profit sharing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do companies sponsor visas for Vice Presidents?
Yes, primarily through L-1A executive transfers from international offices. Banks sponsor hundreds of VPs annually as a mid-career title. Technology companies sponsor through H-1B visa and L-1A for engineering, product, and operations VPs.
What is the typical compensation for sponsored VP roles?
Banking VPs earn $150,000 to $350,000 with bonuses. Technology company VPs earn $350,000 to $1,000,000+ with equity. Manufacturing and consumer goods VPs earn $180,000 to $400,000.
How to find Vice President jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Vice President jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting senior executives with sponsoring employers. Focus on multinational corporations, Fortune 500 companies, and tech firms that commonly sponsor H-1B, L-1A, and EB-1 visas for executive roles. These organizations typically have established immigration processes and actively recruit international VP-level talent across finance, operations, technology, and marketing divisions.
What qualifications strengthen a VP's sponsorship case?
An MBA, advanced engineering degree, or specialized graduate degree provides the strongest H-1B foundation. Executive experience managing large teams and P&L ownership are required for L-1A classification.
Is L-1A or H-1B better for VP sponsorship?
L-1A is typically stronger because VPs manage professional staff and major functions, clearly meeting executive or managerial classification and bypassing the lottery. H-1B works for direct hires when the role specifies an advanced degree.
What is the career progression for a sponsored VP?
The path moves from VP to SVP to EVP to C-suite. SVPs at major companies earn $400,000 to $800,000. EVPs earn $500,000 to $1,200,000.
