Position Scope
The Field Engineer supports project execution by coordinating field operations, managing documentation, and assisting with project controls. This role works closely with project managers, field staff, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide support to project staff and field operations
- Report project progress and budget updates to executive leadership
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Represent the company at client meetings, job walks, and project reviews
- Prepare monthly billings and process change orders
- Review and process subcontractor pay applications and supplier invoices
- Coordinate with jobsite personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Identify and track critical work items
- Procure long-lead materials and equipment
- Resolve field, subcontractor, and supplier issues
- Manage document control, submittal schedules, and contract documents
- Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with project standards
- Oversee project safety and environmental requirements
- Travel to project sites as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education and Work Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in civil construction
- Experience as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, or Field Engineer preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Familiarity with Primavera or Microsoft Project preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
