About The Team
The Circle Expansion team at Life360 is building the next frontier of meaningful connection — deepening Life360’s peace-of-mind platform beyond the core family circle: aging parents staying safely independent, pre-teens navigating the world with wearables, and extended families and loved ones living apart. Our mission is to unlock more value for these members and the families around them, with features that help them stay safe, connected, and sane amidst the chaos of everyday family life.
About The Job
Life360 is hiring a Product Director for Circle Expansion — a seasoned PM who doesn’t just use AI tools, but thinks natively in them. You’ll lead product strategy and execution as a high impact individual contributor across Life360’s fastest-growing new member segments, with aging parents as a cornerstone use case alongside pre-teens with wearables, extended families living apart, and the communities people are already a part of. This is a high-ownership, greenfield role. You’ll drive customer discovery, shape the product roadmap, and work closely with our AI-Native engineering team to ship experiences that matter. You’ll help define what AI-Native product management looks like at Life360 — from how we synthesize research and write specs, to how we run discovery and measure impact. You’ll set the standard others will follow. You’ll operate simultaneously as a senior strategist and a hands-on IC — toggling between executive-level framing and detailed product requirements for Engineering, UX, and PMM. If you’re energized by developing clarity in ambiguity, motivated by outsized impact, and excited about the people we’re building for, this role was made for you.
For candidates based in the US, the salary base range for this position is $201,500 - 294,500 USD. For candidates based out of Canada, the salary range is 202,500 - 237,500 CAD. Note: We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining final salary — therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
What You’ll Do
- Own the Circle Expansion product roadmap across multiple member segments — managing the full product lifecycle from discovery through growth.
- Drive customer discovery that is deep, rigorous, and fast — using AI-Native research workflows to synthesize signals, surface insights, and validate hypotheses across segments.
- Define product strategy and vision grounded in customer needs, business objectives, and Life360’s platform strengths — and communicate it compellingly to leadership, engineering, and go-to-market partners.
- Work with AI as a first-class collaborator — your primary workflow involves using AI to accelerate discovery synthesis, spec writing, competitive analysis, metric tracking, and stakeholder communication.
- Partner tightly with design and engineering to translate complex user problems into elegant, scalable solutions, making smart trade-offs between UX, cost, and technical constraints.
- Lead go-to-market strategy in partnership with marketing, growth, and operations — ensuring end-to-end thinking that spans product development, acquisition, activation, and retention and using experimentation to drive and measure success.
- Own the metrics of the Circle Expansion product portfolio across customer-centric KPIs, subscription impact, revenue, and retention.
- Evangelize the vision for Circle Expansion, serving as the voice of the customer — aging parents, young adults, coaches, and caregivers — across all aspects of the product experience.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years in consumer-oriented mobile products from concept to launch
- Proven success managing full product lifecycles — from customer discovery and roadmap creation through go-to-market and ongoing optimization
- Experience building for diverse or underserved consumer segments; familiarity with multigenerational audiences, aging adults, or caregiver dynamics is a strong plus
- Strong ability to define product vision and strategy grounded in customer insights, data, and business objectives
- Ability to synthesize complex trade-offs between user experience, cost, schedule, and technical constraints
- Demonstrated skill collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, growth, marketing, and finance
- Analytical mindset with experience owning KPIs such as product activation, engagement, retention, and subscription conversion
- Deep experimentation expertise including leveraging methods such as A/B/n and multi-armed bandit methodologies.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills — able to evangelize product vision across internal and external audiences
- Comfort operating at both strategic and tactical levels; can move fluidly from long-term roadmap thinking to day-to-day execution details
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments; able to lead through ambiguity and drive clarity across teams
- Fluency in AI-Native ways of working — actively using AI tools across the full PM workflow (discovery synthesis, spec writing, rapid prototyping, data analysis) and a track record of helping build or ship AI-native product experiences
- A genuine excitement for defining what AI-Native product management looks like — you’re not waiting for the playbook, you want to write it
- Empathy for the humans behind the product — an aging parent trying to stay independent, a family spread across time zones trying to stay close, someone just trying to stay safe, connected, and sane amidst the chaos of everyday life.

How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Product Director
Target companies with established immigration programs
Large tech companies and well-funded scale-ups are most likely to sponsor Product Directors. They have dedicated HR and legal teams that handle H-1B petitions routinely, which reduces friction and speeds up the process considerably.
Frame your degree and experience precisely
H-1B specialty occupation approval depends on showing your degree directly relates to the role. A degree in business, computer science, or engineering maps cleanly to Product Director. Unrelated degrees require stronger experience documentation to bridge the gap.
Get your offer letter to specify the degree requirement
The offer letter should state that a bachelor's degree in a specific field is required for the role. Generic language like 'preferred' weakens the specialty occupation argument and can invite a Request for Evidence from USCIS.
Understand the H-1B lottery timing before you start interviewing
H-1B registration opens in March for an October start. If you're interviewing in the fall, your earliest possible cap-subject start is ten or more months away. Some employers will bridge you with OPT extension or other status in the meantime.
Ask about cap-exempt sponsorship if the company qualifies
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and certain government-affiliated organizations can file H-1B petitions outside the lottery. Product Director roles exist at these organizations, and a cap-exempt filing can start within weeks rather than months.
Document your leadership scope clearly in your resume
USCIS reviewers assess whether the role genuinely requires a degree. Quantify team size, budget ownership, and cross-functional scope. Vague product management descriptions are harder to defend than specific evidence of strategic, degree-level complexity.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Is a Product Director role eligible for H-1B sponsorship?
Yes. Product Director meets the H-1B specialty occupation standard because the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business, computer science, or engineering. USCIS has consistently approved product management and product leadership roles, though approval is stronger when the job description explicitly lists a degree requirement rather than treating it as preferred.
Do I need an MBA or can an undergraduate degree be enough?
An undergraduate degree in a relevant field is sufficient for H-1B purposes. An MBA strengthens the petition and is common at the director level, but it is not required. What matters is that your degree field relates directly to the role. If your bachelor's is in an unrelated discipline, substantial progressive experience in product management can partially compensate, though this requires more documentation.
What types of companies sponsor Product Directors on H-1B visas?
Mid-to-large technology companies sponsor the most Product Directors on H-1B visas, including enterprise software firms, fintech companies, and consumer platforms. Well-funded Series B and later startups also sponsor regularly, especially when they have existing immigration counsel. You can filter actively sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate to focus your applications on companies with a track record of filing.
How does H-1B lottery timing affect a Product Director job search?
Cap-subject H-1B registration runs in March, with an October 1 start date if selected. If you receive an offer outside that window, your employer can still file, but you will wait until the next October to begin work on H-1B status. Some employers will keep you on OPT, a bridging visa, or another status during that gap. Confirming this flexibility early in the hiring process avoids surprises later.
Can a Product Director petition face a Request for Evidence, and how do employers handle it?
RFEs on Product Director petitions typically challenge whether the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, usually when job descriptions use broad or interchangeable language. Employers with experienced immigration counsel respond by providing detailed position analyses, organizational charts, and evidence that the role requires a specific degree field. Choosing an employer with a strong H-1B filing history reduces, but does not eliminate, this risk.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Product Director jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
