Product Engineer Jobs in USA with Visa Sponsorship
Product engineers are sponsored at Apple, Google, Tesla, Amazon, Intel, Medtronic, and 3M for roles bridging design, manufacturing, and quality engineering that require mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering degrees combined with hands-on product development expertise. H-1B classification is straightforward because the role unambiguously qualifies as a specialty occupation, and semiconductor expansion, EV manufacturing, and medical device innovation are driving demand that exceeds domestic engineering capacity.

- Design and validate UI screens and workflows which meet the stated requirements for primarily handheld devices and their on-device GUIs, and any accompanying Windows, Web or smart phone-based companion applications, leveraging practical engineering experience and a strong understanding of usability principles.
- Develop and maintain detailed screen wireframes, UI specifications, and functional documentation that guide development teams and Software Quality Assurance's ability to craft test cases to validate behavior before a product's development is complete.
- Participate and maintain visibility into Thermo Fisher's various UxD groups which provide guidelines for consistency across on-device, Web-based and Windows application spaces.
Product Ownership & Agile Delivery
- Serve as Product Owner or UI lead within a Scrum team, ensuring UI/UX requirements are clearly communicated and prioritized.
- Write thorough, clear user stories criteria related to UI features and workflows.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product vision, scope, and delivery timelines.

Communication & Documentation
- Produce high-quality documentation including functional specifications, UI logic flows, and user interface behavior definitions.
- Communicate complex ideas clearly and professionally to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Present design concepts, prototypes, and workflow rationale to stakeholders and leadership.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field experience.

How to Get Visa Sponsorship as a Product Engineer
Consumer Electronics Companies Are Top Sponsors
Apple, Google, Amazon, and Meta sponsor product engineers for hardware product development, DFM optimization, and NPI programs at scale. These roles pay $110,000 to $180,000 in total compensation and require ME, EE, or materials engineering degrees.
Semiconductor Product Engineering Is Growing Fastest
Intel, TSMC, Samsung, Qualcomm, and Broadcom sponsor product engineers for yield analysis, device characterization, and process integration at U.S. fabs expanding under the CHIPS Act. These positions pay $95,000 to $155,000 and have the most aggressive sponsorship timelines.
Medical Device Product Engineering Pays a Premium
Medtronic, Stryker, Abbott, Boston Scientific, and Intuitive Surgical sponsor product engineers with biomedical or mechanical engineering degrees for design transfer, V&V testing, and sustaining engineering. FDA-regulated product development requires specialized knowledge that limits the domestic candidate pool.
Manufacturing and DFM Expertise Creates Sponsorship Leverage
Product engineers who understand injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and PCB assembly bridge design and manufacturing in ways that pure design engineers cannot. Hands-on factory floor experience and supplier management skills make you harder to replace domestically.
Automotive and EV Product Engineering Demand Is Surging
Tesla, Rivian, GM, Ford, and Lucid sponsor product engineers for battery systems, powertrain components, and vehicle integration programs. New EV platform development creates thousands of product engineering positions where sponsorship timelines are accelerated.
TN Engineer Category Works for Canadian and Mexican Product Engineers
The Engineer profession on the USMCA treaty list covers product engineering roles with no lottery and same-day border approval for Canadians. TN renews indefinitely in three-year increments, making it a viable long-term pathway.
