INTRODUCTION
Who We Are
We are the first publicly-traded biotech or pharmaceutical company to take the form of a public benefit corporation. Our public benefit purpose is to provide a brighter future for patients through the development of novel pharmaceutical therapies; and technologies that expand the availability of transplantable organs.
United Therapeutics (Nasdaq: UTHR) seeks to travel down the corridors of indifference to develop treatments for rare, deadly diseases. We were founded in 1996 by a family seeking a cure for their daughter’s pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Today, we have six FDA-approved therapies that treat PAH, pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD) and neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Our near-term pipeline seeks to develop additional therapies for PAH and pulmonary fibrosis (PF).
The cure for end-stage life-threatening diseases like PAH, PH-ILD, PF, and many others is an organ transplant, but only a small percentage of donated organs are available to address the vast need. For this reason, we are working to create manufactured organs to address the shortage of kidneys, hearts, lungs, and livers available for transplant. We believe an unlimited supply of tolerable, transplantable organs will eliminate the transplant waiting list and cure end-stage organ diseases for which transplant is not currently an option.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do companies sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Director roles?
Yes. Tech companies, consulting firms, and life sciences companies sponsor for BD directors with analytical degree requirements. L-1A managerial transfers work well for directors supervising professional teams at multinational companies. Both pathways are well-established at major employers.
How to find Business Development Director jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Business Development Director jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting international professionals with sponsoring employers. Focus your search on multinational corporations, tech companies, and consulting firms that frequently hire senior business development roles and offer H-1B visa, L-1 visa, or O-1 visa sponsorship for experienced executives with proven track records in strategic partnerships and revenue growth.
What is the typical salary for sponsored BD Director roles?
Tech company BD directors earn $200,000 to $385,000 with equity. Consulting firm BD directors earn $165,000 to $285,000. Life sciences BD directors earn $175,000 to $305,000 with bonuses. Financial services BD directors earn $170,000 to $275,000.
What qualifications strengthen a BD Director's sponsorship case?
An MBA, business analytics, engineering, or economics degree provides the strongest H-1B foundation. Documented revenue growth, partnership development, and market expansion results are the primary evidence in visa petitions. Experience managing professional teams of five or more supports L-1A classification.
Is L-1A or H-1B better for BD Director sponsorship?
L-1A is often stronger because BD directors supervise professional teams, meeting managerial classification and bypassing the lottery. H-1B works well for direct hires at new companies where the role has explicit analytical degree requirements. Many directors use L-1A initially and transition to green card.
What is the career progression for a sponsored BD Director?
The path moves from BD director to senior director to VP of business development to SVP of corporate development to chief business officer. VPs at tech companies earn $260,000 to $450,000 with equity. SVPs earn $320,000 to $550,000 at major companies.
