Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding C.N.A. Jobs
Target supervisory and specialized C.N.A. roles
Look for positions like Charge C.N.A., Clinical Coordinator, or Quality Assurance roles that require nursing degrees and involve complex patient care management beyond basic assistance.
Emphasize your nursing education background
If you have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related healthcare degree, highlight how your education directly relates to specialized patient care responsibilities.
Focus on healthcare systems and hospitals
Large hospital networks and healthcare systems are more likely to sponsor specialized nursing roles and understand the regulatory requirements for H-1B petitions.
Consider stepping stone positions first
Start with roles that clearly require nursing degrees, then advance to specialized C.N.A. positions within the same healthcare organization that already sponsors visas.
Document specialized certifications and training
Advanced certifications in areas like wound care, medication administration, or patient safety can strengthen the case that your role requires specialized knowledge.
Research state nursing board requirements
Different states have varying requirements for C.N.A. roles. Some may require or prefer degree-level education for certain specialized nursing assistant positions.

Find C.N.A. JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Do C.N.A. positions qualify for H-1B visa sponsorship?
Most basic C.N.A. positions don't qualify for H-1B sponsorship because they typically require certification rather than a bachelor's degree in a specific field. However, specialized C.N.A. roles involving clinical coordination, quality assurance, or supervisory responsibilities that require nursing degrees may qualify as specialty occupations.
What degree do I need for H-1B sponsorship as a C.N.A.?
You typically need a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field. The degree must be directly related to the specialized nursing duties you'll perform. Basic C.N.A. certification alone usually isn't sufficient for H-1B qualification.
Which healthcare employers sponsor C.N.A. positions?
Large hospital systems, specialized care facilities, and healthcare networks are most likely to sponsor specialized C.N.A. roles. They often have established visa sponsorship programs and can demonstrate the need for degree-level nursing knowledge in supervisory or clinical coordination positions.
How to find C.N.A. jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find C.N.A. jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting healthcare professionals with sponsoring employers. Focus on hospitals, nursing homes, and healthcare facilities that commonly sponsor H-1B or EB-3 visas for certified nursing assistants. These employers often have established sponsorship programs due to ongoing nursing shortages in the healthcare industry.
What makes a C.N.A. role qualify as a specialty occupation?
The position must require specialized nursing knowledge that can only be obtained through a bachelor's degree program. Examples include clinical assessment responsibilities, care plan development, staff supervision, or quality improvement initiatives that go beyond basic patient assistance tasks.
Can I get sponsored if I have foreign nursing credentials?
Yes, but you'll need a credential evaluation showing your foreign nursing degree is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree. You may also need to pass the NCLEX exam or obtain state nursing licensure depending on the specific role requirements and state regulations.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored C.N.A. jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
