Business Operations Jobs in USA with Visa Sponsorship
Business operations roles can get H-1B visa sponsorship at larger companies, but the visa case depends heavily on how specialized the position is. Generic ops manager titles may face scrutiny, while roles focused on supply chain analytics, process optimization, or strategic planning have stronger cases. Tech companies and large enterprises are the most likely sponsors. Having a degree in industrial engineering, operations research, or business analytics helps justify the specialty occupation requirement. For detailed occupation requirements, see the O*NET profile.

Target operations roles at high-growth technology companies
Companies like Uber, Airbnb, DoorDash, and Stripe rely heavily on operations teams to scale their platforms and manage complex logistics. These companies are experienced with visa sponsorship and hire operations professionals who can optimize processes using data.
Earn Six Sigma or PMP certification to strengthen your candidacy
A Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification demonstrates structured problem-solving methodology, while a PMP credential validates your project management skills. Both certifications add specialized qualifications that support the specialty occupation requirement in your visa petition.
Highlight process improvements with quantifiable business impact
Operations employers want to see specific results - cost reductions, efficiency gains, cycle time improvements, or revenue impact from process changes you led. Concrete metrics make your candidacy more compelling and demonstrate the specialized value you bring to the organization.
Consider industrial engineering or operations research degrees for STEM OPT
If you are still choosing a degree path, industrial engineering and operations research programs are STEM-designated, providing up to 36 months of OPT work authorization. This extended timeline gives employers more opportunity to evaluate your work before committing to H-1B sponsorship.
Focus on operations roles with significant analytical depth
Positions titled Business Operations Analyst or Operations Strategy Manager that require SQL, Python, or BI tool proficiency present a stronger specialty occupation case than generalist coordinator roles. Employers can more easily justify sponsorship when the role demands technical and analytical expertise.

Find Business Operations JobsFrequently Asked Questions
What types of business operations roles offer visa sponsorship?
Operations analyst, business process manager, and operations strategy roles at technology companies, financial institutions, and large enterprises frequently come with sponsorship. Companies like Google, Amazon, Uber, and Salesforce have sizable operations teams that regularly hire international professionals.
Do I need a specific degree for business operations visa sponsorship?
A bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, industrial engineering, or a quantitative field typically meets the H-1B specialty occupation requirement. If your degree is in industrial engineering or operations research, you may also qualify for STEM OPT, extending your work authorization to 36 months.
How to find Business Operations jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Business Operations jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting international candidates with sponsoring employers. Focus on multinational corporations, tech companies, consulting firms, and startups that commonly hire Business Operations professionals on H-1B, L-1, or O-1 visas. These roles are in high demand across finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and technology sectors.
How is business operations different from management consulting for visa purposes?
Business operations roles are in-house positions focused on improving a specific company's processes, supply chain, or organizational efficiency. The visa petition is filed by your direct employer rather than a consulting firm, and the job description should clearly tie to the company's operational needs.
What skills are most valued for business operations sponsorship roles?
Process optimization, data analysis with tools like SQL and Excel, project management credentials such as PMP or Six Sigma, and experience with operational KPIs are highly valued. Roles that emphasize quantitative analysis and systems thinking are easier to classify as specialty occupations.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Business Operations jobs?
When a U.S. employer sponsors a foreign worker for a work visa, they are legally required to pay at least the "prevailing wage" — the average wage paid to workers in the same occupation, in the same geographic area, with similar experience. This is set by the Department of Labor to prevent employers from hiring foreign workers at below-market rates. The prevailing wage varies significantly by role, location, and experience level — for example, a business operations in California will have a different prevailing wage than the same role in a smaller state. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search.
